airport. it will continue throughout the day. fairly light rain today. heavier rain tonight and into tomorrow. that is when we have the threat of possible severe weather. today through tomorrow, we will be under a flash flood watch because of the heavy downpours we have already had. things are saturated and more rain in the forecast could lead to creeks and streams coming out of the banks. here, you can see the rain is widespread. we will show you counties under the flash flood watch. a watch means just that. we are watching for the potential of flash flooding that could occur with heavy downpours. especially as thunderstorms rumbled through tonight into tomorrow. today, umbrella, rain jacket needed. cool breezes will keep the temperatures locked in at best into the low 50's for highs today. it is in the 40's this morning. 48 in greenville will climb to low 50's. 44 in asheville will climb to

the cool, northeasterly breeze at 10-15 plus will make it feel cooler. warm rain jacket is not a bad idea for today. we will talk more about the potential of severe weather tomorrow in a few minutes. allyson: a live look now at our woodruff road skycam. and a reminder to be careful on the roads this morning. use caution if you come across ponding or even flooding on the road ways over the next day or so. give yourself plenty of time this morning to make your commute. geoff: now to a deadly crash in spartanburg. a moped collided with a tow truck. the coroner says the wreck happened yesterday afternoon at the intersection of north pine street and east daniel morgan avenue. keith harrelson was killed in the wreck. he was riding a moped. police say a tow truck stopped in front of him to make a turn when he collided with the tow truck. ally: to pickens county now. autopsy results released on a woman's body found by fishermen. it happened sunday morning near saluda lake off buckskin road in pickens county. officials now say after an

was shot in the head and killed. the coroner has ruled it a homicide. deputies are trying to figure out who she was with saturday night. investigators have not made any arrests as of now. they ask you call crimestoppers with any information. geoff: police now say the reported shooting at columbiana centre mall may not have involved any gunshots at all. police say that they haven't found any shell casings and witnesses who originally reported seeing two men fire aren't as confident about their stories. authorities say they found a book bag in the woods with airsoft guns, which look like real guns. police also are seeking more surveillance video from stores. hundreds of people either ran away or hid in stores after people said they saw men shooting. allyson: in anderson county, 350 new jobs. g.f. linamar plans to build a brand new manufacturing facility there. north carolina governor pat mccrory was on site for the

linamar manufactures car parts. turning now to news in greenville now. where a controversial quiktrip could soon become a reality. geoff: wyff news 4's aly myles joins us live on this rainy morning from the proposed site in the west end with more. aly: definitely a rainy mornrng out here right now. we have gotten a little reprieve, but it is a cold and wet. obviously, it is wet. it is raining. wet, cold, windy. we are here -- if you look over there, you can see the quiktrip getting built. if you are having trouble placing where i am, the kroc center across the street. this is where the quiktrip will be bill. this is a controversial quiktrip. that is will -- that his words when to be. the council approved zoning changes. the changes came with some opposition.

this q.t. in my opinion will accelerate the demist of our unique character and opens us up to the highest bidder. >> i think this plan has been approved by the vast majority of people who live in the area, who work in the area and who own property in the area. aly: quik trip says it held over 25 neighborhood meetings while designing its plans. officials say once the city approves those plans construction is expected to take about six months. aly myles, wyff news 4, live in downtown greenville. geoff: an update now to the coal ash dispute in pickens county. an upstate judge has ruled against the north carolina company. mrr is suing pickens county for $25 million, saying the county can not prevent it from using the landfill for coal ash. in the meantime the company filed a motion to stop pickens from delaying its plans. a judge denied the motion yesterday and ruled mrr could not dump any coal ash while the case goes forward. county officials say the landfill is for construction debris only.

permission from d-hec to dump coal ash. allyson: two development projects are one step closer to coming to downtown spartanburg. last night spartanburg city council approved the first reading of a plan that would sell two pieces of city-owned land to developers for a dollar each. the plan has to undergo one more reading. one developer is proposing retail space and 30 apartments at the corner of daniel morgan and west main. another developer is proposing 50,000 square feet of office space in the area behind the george dean johnson school of business. existing business owners say they're excited about the progress. >> people come in here all the time and no go, we haven't been downtown in years. so everything that's going to happen, it's going to generate more interest in coming downtown which should help everybody overall. allyson: the corner of daniel morgan and west main is currently a parking lot. the city plans to make up for the loss in spaces by offering 65 spaces at the corner of spring and broad streets. geoff: happening today. seneca officials are expected to

allyson: 4:43 now, an update on the shooting in kalamazoo, michigan. prosecutors say an uber driver has confessed to going on a killing spree. six people were killed. and jason dalton, went before a judge monday. this all started saturday night in kalamazoo. on this map you see the 3 places where the shootings happened. a townhouse. the parking lot of a car dealer. and a cracker barrell. parking lot. we see where authorities made the arrest as well. jason dalton appeared in court yesterday by video monitor. he's charged with 6 counts of murder. the judge denied him bond yesterday. he'll stay in jail. authorities believe it's random violence. police say a total of 8 people were shot. 4 people in the parking lot of a cracker barrel. two people remain hospitalized, among them a 14-year-old girl, abigail. doctors say they're encouraged

>> abigail is strong, and she is a vibrant beautiful young lady and she did not deserve this and either did her grandmother or those other victims. allyson: so far, no motive has been determined and officials have not found a conneneion between dalton and the victims. if convicted, dalton could be sentenend to life in prison. geoff: lawmakers in charlotte, north carolina are expanding rights for gay, lesbian and transgender people. they voted to add to the city's non-discrimination ordinance last night. the new measures will prevent public businesses from discriminating based on sexual orientation gender identity and , marital status. a hot topic in the proposals debate. transgender people now have the right to choose which public bathroom to use based on their gender identity. >> i care. i want my children protected. >> i'm afraid of an opposition who is also afraid of me. they are afraid that i, or people like me, are going to victimize children.

the comedian has denied any wrongdoing. georgia lawmakers have approved a bill inspired by jimmy carter's cancer treatment. the bill prevents insurance companies from limiting coverage of drugs for stage 4 cancer patients. carter announced in august that he had been diagnosed with skin cancer that had spread to his brain. carter said in december that a scan detected no sign of cancer cells. republican rep. mike cheokas from americus is the bill's sponsor. cheokas said no one facing cancer that has spread should have medical treatment options limited by insurance providers. the bill now goes to the state senate for review. a north charleston pastor is challenging u.s. sen. tim scott in his bid for re-election. pastor thomas a. dixon announced his decision at a news conference monday. in a news release, dixon says he , "tireless advocate and will reach out to people who feel they are under represented by current elected officials. go dixon is a democrat and a
