lead to ponding on roads and creeks and streams coming out of their banks. in western north carolina, wind advisories out and also for the piedmont, too. as we continue to watch the system unfolds, let's go to chris justus and get an idea of what area may be impacted the most. chris: the concern is for your morning commute this morning. into the afternoon, it shifts east of charlotte. you can see a couple of lines towards the west. the latest computer model showing that line of heavy rainfall pushing into our area between now and 8:30 from asheville to greenville. after that, this line begins to energize as to get to the afternoon hours. around 12:00, potential big storm's east of charlotte from i-77 down to columbia. this area really will be

at home, periods of rain and gusty wind as the low moves through. a look at the highest that for severe weather includes eastern cherokee, union and newberry county's. from charlotte to columbia, but it is a bull's-eye across raleigh and down toward kingston and portions of fayetteville. they could see some very strong storms. just looking at the tornado threat, this area means there is a 10% chance of an ef-2 or stronger tornado. raleigh will be an area we watch closely. you can see the light shining on the street. this aerial be under the gun for strong storms later today. allyson: thank you. speaking of all that rain wyff , news 4's aly myles is on the road in asheville. geoff: aly, what are you seeing this morning? aly: we had a pretty flawless drive from greenville to

those are severe storm warning issued. that area of red represents a tornado watch area in georgia. all of that will sweep south of i 20 through the lower part of south carolina this morning. we will see a few thunderstorms from this line just north of atlanta come across now and 8:00. looks like the bulk of the stormy one is tracking to the south. we are seeing some pretty good downpours from asheville back into northern greenville and spartanburg county. action in western north carolina and into raven county. by 945 -- 9:45, 10:00, select the bulk of this has worked its way to the east with scattered showers. cold conditions into the mountains, it will fire up snow along the tennessee-north carolina border early tomorrow morning. that may be interesting to see

an alabama gas station, as the rain, wind, and lightning come down. the lights flicker and then go out for good. dothan fire officials say power went out last night for more than 3,000 customers. emergency officials in dothan can't confirm whether it was a tornado that touched or just high winds. so far, no damage to homes and buildings and no injuries have been reported. geoff: also severe storms , brought high winds and tornados to parts of florida tuesday, as much of the south was under severe watches and warnings. strong winds and rain were caught on camera at this hotel near the airport in pensacola, florida. much of northwest florida remains under a tornado watch. motorists are being asked to stay off of the roads, if possible. you can see the driving wind going sideways. forecasters say ththregion could see gusts of 60 to 80 miles per hour, as well as golfball sized hail. allyson: thousands of people lost power, as storms rip through central louisiana. take a look at what the wind did to this business in prairieville.

and in other areas south and east of baton rouge, the wind downed power lines in several areas. the electric company, entergy, says more than 13,000 homes and businesses have lost power. geoff: waterspouts over louisiana lake, so check out these huge waterspouts. the line of strong storms passed through the area, which cause traffic to come to a standstill on a nearby highway. the line produced a tornado warning which occurred during the time of the waterspouts. similar spots were spotted over the mississippi river as well.
