two lanes closed their digital instruction around highway 29 and the 290 exit. it has loosened up. not all lanes are open in that area. many people still in the dark. just over 43,000 are still without power in the carolinas. here is a look at outages in our area. 3004 spartanburg county. close to 3500 in spartanburg county and 2800 in greenville county. falling trees playing a big part in those outages. the story in western north carolina this morning has been snow causing delays and closings for a number of school district. dale: quickly, a couple of skycam's to show you. clouds into the area, mostly

a man died in darlington county after a gust of wind lou down the tree and landed on him. the governor declared a state of emergency in virginia, where a fourth person died because of the storm. most recent happened in appomattox county. check out this tornado video from henderson, north carolina. that is northeast of raleigh. wyff news 4 meteorologists saying that tornado was traveling at 60 miles per hour. the storm brought a lot more heavy rain and damaged to the east. reports of several possible tornadoes touching down in granville county. nothing has been confirmed. high wind also pounding the rum, --durham.

we were very fortunate compared to other parts of the country that got hammered by those tornadoes. asheville is cloudy, a breeze out of the northwest at 10. 40 mile-per-hour gusts all morning in the mountains of north carolina. the areas of green and pink, rain, sleet, mixed with snow. snow continues along the appellation mountain range. -- appalachian mountain ridge. slippery driving conditions. we expect temperatures to get cold tonight. whatever is left on the roads will freeze as what we will call black ice. it looks like it may be wet but it will be a layer of ice and even additional snow on top of that tonight. these flurries are not done yet. these are the counties right along the tennessee, north

cherokee, clay, macononnorthern jackson, and right up to the county line on a winter weather advisory through tomorrow morning. 43 in asheville, greenville at 50. let's check on a few other communities between greenville and spartanburg. 51 in reidsville and lyman. we have been consistently seeing 13-20 mile-per-hour wind gusting to 24 in spartanburg and 10-20 plus mile-per-hour winds continuing into the evening. we will see upper 50's, but today, 54 may be the best we get up to. low 40's are what we are anticipating for highs today.

going back to the old neighborhood can be hard sometimes. walls have been built invisibly around the old neighborhood and that police brutality is used to keep folks hemmed in, and frankly, opportunity locked out. i spent my entire life in the civil rights movement. i came up in the naacp like my mom came up in the naacp, like my father came up with the congress of racial equality, like bernie sanders came up with the congress of racial equality.
