abc seven news reporter lena howland in orinda with the latest. and are you seeing the trains moving again? lena >> a little too early for us to hear those trains running just yet at the orinda station. but just 30 minutes ago, bart confirmed with us that they will be running normal service through this station. and that's between rock ridge and the walnut creek stations. now, this , of course, comes after crews worked well into the night to make repairs and also do some inspections. a giant crane was even brought in last night to lift the derailed bart car back up onto the tracks, which took hours to pull off. bart says damage to the track is not extensive, but this is something that cut off all train service between rock ridge and walnut creek, forcing passengers to use a bus bridge, passenger cars say the train stopped twice and then moved backwards as it derailed. then a mad dash to evacuate as the car filled with smoke. somebody behind us was like, just jump, just jump. >> so we just jumped in the outside like like mission impossible almost.
