mr. perry and gohmert.d asked white house counsel for a pardon. >> different gop members denied or rationalized this. will there be more about the request for a pardon? >> it is indicative of a fear of prosecution. it is not a crime for these members to ask for a pardon. that would be their right. however, one cannot corruptly ask for a pardon which means to seek a pardon in exchange for something else is a political quid pro quo. if and when more information is revealed we want to make everything public. but that's all i can really say about that in this point. >> do you have evidence of a possible quid pro quo or anything like that? >> no. but i'm just making the point that it is not criminal for people -- yeah. it is not criminal to seek a pardon unless there's a quid pro quo why that's a statement of the law. from a common sense perspective indicative of consciousness of guilt and participation in a criminal activity. i don't know anybody who's ever requested a pardon myself. >> okay. i want to ask you
