in the ymca's hours of operation. >> good evening. justin feliciano ymca. i'm here to give a couple of quick updated challenges for the future. this is mainly with the gym side of programming. we have just received approval for extension of hours of operation. currently we operate five days a week. we are now going to be extending to operate seven days a week with a strong emphasis on increasing the hours during the weekend where we are currently open at 12:00 p.m. and closing at 5:00 p.m. with the new extended hours, we'll then be opening at 10:00 a.m. on saturday, closing at 6:00 p.m., and also opening at 10:00 a.m. on sunday and closing at 5:00 p.m. on sunday. with a strong emphasis from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. allowing youth from the ages of 5-14 to be able to enter our facility to really go into like skills-related clinics, some form of structured program. we are going to ease into this transition with the first beginning stages, beginning in december where we would then open up the weekend hours specifically with saturday to re

the next slide highlights a program called the chinatown -- at the chinatown ymca. i apologize that this is a lot of text and i'm beginning to realize this is not -- it's a little too much text. >> director nicole bohn: you can summarize verbally what is on the slides, that's fine. >> okay. so the chinatown ymca has funded a program for kindergarten to fifth graders that serves the chinatown community. in this particular program they serve children on the autism spectrum. so they have additional support staff that we pay for that will reduce the ratios of student to adult staff, but also staff that has specialties in serving children who have limited abilities in speech and physical mobility. and this is an example of us understanding and knowing the need of that community and allocating additional resources because as you know that professional staff is expensive. and the next grouping of c.b.o.s are the enrichment leadership and skill-building program. these are community-based organizations that serve the teenagers, the middle and the high schoolers. so we have a

i would also like to thank the ymca for hosting us tonight and invite the ymca's new director to say a few words and i think she will introduce some of their new staff here as well. >> hi. i'm shianta lewis, director of treasure island and youth programs here. hello to the board and the community. i was asked to provide a brief update of some things that have changed. we went through some transitions last year when we lost our previous director and i knew we had some big shoes to fill. able to step in and build in all the work that we're doing on treasure island. our gym was open just to work out as well as camp programs in the summertime. we've received additional funding and we pair it with the efforts of the funding from tida to extend our hours at the gym. with the hours being open seven days a week, we currently have new programs operating. we offer youth sports programs twice throughout the week and on saturday and sunday for up to four hours on the weekends. we go 2:00 to 6:30 and extended evening programs. we offer hours for the youth 10:00 to 4:00 engaging in sports programs
