trains between walnut creek and orinda are not running.hat's because they got a lot of work being done. they're replacing the track. and that's causing delays for b.a.r.t. riders. b.a.r.t. is replacing 50-year-old tracks. but to do that, they have to shut down the tracks over six weekends. and take a live look at what is happening now. there are shuttles available for the riders. but we've got the two huge trains that you're seeing along 24. those are in the eastbound lanes. and so in the left -- this is the big difference. it's affecting the track. but also affecting everyone trying to get by. we checked in with sara zendehnam over the past hour or so. we are seeing things start to clog up on 64 in the eastbound direction. as well as the side streets. an issue we have been talking about. side streets get very busy. mount diablo, as it rolls through lafayette. even orinda and areas where people try to figure out a way to get around that. keep in mind, this going to be the situation all weekend long. left lanes closed. near lafayette b.a.r.

we can show you where it is from where we are in the orinda hills. it is on the north side of highway 24. you can see large swaths of dirt where part of the hill has broken away in the landslide. there are three transmission towers near the area. the one in the foreground, closest to us, if you look close, it looks like it is tilted. that's the one we're talking about here. here is an aerial view from sky fox. this is a transmission tower in a remote location not near any homes. because of the landslide, the area around it is unstable and pg&e is working to stabilize the area so the transmission tower is not threatened. they have been bringing poles to build a temporary backup to connect the wires to if it has to go out of service or be disconnected. there are two train trucks parked on highway 24 below, located in the eastbound direction. those crane trucks are there to catch overhead power lines in case they dip or fall. pg&e says the cranes are there out of an abundance of caution as they try to shore up the tower on the hill above. it is there ju

we drove over on the other side of the freeway early this morning at the orinda theatre shopping center still has power outcome of the shopping center where we were, there appears to be only one in the county with the lights on, here is a look at the map countywide, some of the power outages here in the neighborhood north of the lafayette reservoir in highway 24. power is also restored for all of the valley and eastern contra costa county and it has been a frustrating experience for people across the bay area having to get by with no electricity, power to literally shut off by pg&e in the name of welfare prevention and a lot of folks had to work with, the most frustrating thing is not knowing exactly when the power would come back on block by block. >> we were very lucky. came back out about 8:00 last night. was very disheartening to see it happen, it is not fair. >> very frustrated, we work out of the house, or businesses out of the house. when we do not have power we cannot perform any kind of us miss. so yesterday we were trying to work mobley as much as possible from our sons place

because -- pardon me -- highway 124 will be slow in lafayette and orinda.ot as bad as yesterday with all of the crashes. but we did have slow traffic this morning. i think some people are avoiding 80 as 80 had early morning crash that's have been cleared. some people they decide early in the morning coming in from solano county to take 80 or 680 to 24 to get to this part of the area. 680 has improved between carquinez bridge and the macarthur maze. and the bay bridge toll plaza is backed up beyond the maze. that is kind of slow. bay bridge commuter lanes, the diamond lanes, are actually doing very well if you're doing that. san mateo bridge traffic is going to be moderately heavy driving across to the peninsula. and on the peninsula, things have improved approaching san francisco airport from earlier problems. highway 101 is slow to burlingame. south bay commute about normal. that means that traffic will be slow getting into the west valley on all of the major freeways. 280 downtown san jose on the right there northbound looks good. 7:32. let's go back to t
