they have been running between lafayette and orinda. if you live in walnut creek, you're trying to get into san francisco and b.a.r.t. is your normal way of getting in, it is up and running and it's a normal tuesday morning right after new year's eve. this is after b.a.r.t. spent yesterday and overnight trying to repair the tracks, which they successfully were able to do. they had to use a crane to get the two derailed cars on the rails, back on the rails so they could be towed out of service. those two cars were on an eastbound yellow train along highway 24. this happened a little after 9:00 yesterday morning. at least one of the car's undercarriage also caught fire. all of the passengers and employees were able to get off safely. they were escorted on foot back here to orinda b.a.r.t. behind me. nine riders were taken to the hospital to be evaluated and in some cases treated for minor injuries. >> bob, at this point do we know why the train derailed? >> reporter: we just spoke with jim allison and we'll have some sound with him in abo
