the matter is childress has had direct communication with favre, he wanted him at the beginning of otas, when favre declined to make that appearance childress through the vikings' management informed brett favre's agent that the team was prepared to move on, they encouraged favre to continue his rehab and indicated they might reconsider their position at some point in the future. as for favre i fully expect he'll continue his rehab, and as long as he doesn't have second thoughts about whether this is the right thing for him to do he'll be ready to make the decision the vikings want in late june. >> elsewhere, the new york jets have reached a contract agreement with quarterback mark sanchez out of usc. the deal worth $50 million over five years, $28 million in guarantees. >> the sacramento kings hired paul westphal as their new coach for two years plus an option for three years. sources told espn.com that the kings offered the job to kurt rambus, but he declined. >> coming up, after winning game three, the magic may have sent a message. don't count us out yet. full coverage from orlando

to 1718, this is no excuse, soon after that was passed, we found ourselves back in multilateralism ota asians with the dprk. as has been the case over the last few months, the subject of the implementation of u.n. security council resolutions, the existing ones, 1718 and the new one, is very much a subject of active consideration in our relationship, not only with the chinese but other countries in the region. you can expect that as we move forward, we are going to continue to be very concerned about implementation and other countries will be as well. >> anything you would recommend? i know you do not recommend what congress should do better any suggestions about how congress can be helpful on that narrow question of the enforcement of that resolution? >> i am never hesitant to recommend what congress should do, but i do think -- >> that is okay. for today. >> i do think that congress has a role in this and as congress expresses its views, those can hopefully be reinforcing of the positions we are taking in bilateral government to government relationships with our partners. >> and also

so one advantage, the vikings are getting ready to wrap up their summer section of ota activities on the field this week. one advantage that brett has with the vikings and it's been noted many times is that the vikings' play book is basically identical to the green bay packers play book. so this is all about the physical sh not the mental because he's not going to have to learn a new offense like he did with the jets. how long are the vikings willing to wait? maybe we'll hear something this week. maybe they'll say, you know what, it's just not going to work, we're moving on. but it takes two to tango. >> that's the viking side of things. how long will brett wait before he makes a decision? >> that's a good question. you know, i would think he's willing to wait two to four weeks. you know, at some point, you know, let's say by july 10th or whatever you would think that he would want to know, my arm is feeling okay. in fact it's feeling close to a hundred percent because he doesn't want to embarrass himself. he really doesn't. was he embarrassed the last five weeks of last season? sure

the vikings have 4 ota's this week. chris mortensen joins us now.ose the deadline this week? >> well, first of all, favre has had this surgery simply snipping the tendon. it's 3 to 6 weeks to rehab. i don't think they want this hanging over their organization's head or their own quarterbacks sage rosenfels or john david booty.
