joining us now is jim palmer. i want to get your thoughts on rich hill's efforts early in this ballgame. >> it's a big break for the orioles as far as i'm concerned, only not because of guthrie the fact he hasn't pitched as well as we expected. but you want positive things ghoog after the all-star game. for rich hill he'd got beat in 10 innings in camden yards, but tonight i actually thought he threw the ball. we're talking about a kid that was away pretty much all year long. he's 29, but he hasn't really pitched that much at the major league levels. he kept him in the ballgame. he made some great pitches. i thought his curveball was sharper. he still drops his arm. rick dempsey knows about this. but at the end of the day when you can pitch six innings, only give up two runs, you give your team a chance to win. there are the total numbers. i don't think i would have let him go out there in the 7th with millar leading off, but as it turned out baez came in and got them out of harm's way. ricky romero had won his la
