came ashore at fort walton beach at 1:00 in the morning. only thing was they didn't really have much time to prepare for what happened there. elsewherwe have thunderstorms from chicago to st. louis and down in to mobile area. we are seeing heavy rain in general, three to six inches has fallen on this the right side of the circulation. we think it will dissipate out there. hurricane bill, a category one hurricane. may get as strong as a category three. probably miss the lesser antilles. it is way out there but as it gets closer to the east coast, here's the official track from the hurricane center as early as wednesday morning, winds 115 miles an hour and as it approaches the east coast watch for rip current and big waves and swells. even this far out it will have that affect. all of the models indicate this will turn before it hits the east coast. we hope that is right but bermuda will have to watch it. temperature trend keeps us in the 90s. the dog days are here. humidity will be increasing as well as gee go through the week. but i don't t

walton beach, florida. the storm is moving to the north and west, expected to weaken throughout the course of the day. there's that track. now we'll move on, and we're keeping our eye on two other storms. ana, of course. there's that track. and bill. that also, again, in the process of moving eastward. the first bill is the first of the atlantic season to become a hurricane, moving quickly to the west/northwest. and tropical storm -- or tropical depression, i should say, ana moving across the northeastern caribbean. now back to claudette. it is the longest we've had to wait for a named storm to hit land since hurricane andrew back in 1992, and we all know how strong that was and what an active season we had after that storm came ashore. meantime, forecasters have just recently scaled back their predictions for this year, saying they now expect only ten named storms instead of 11, and just four hurricanes instead of five. we'll keep our eye on that. you know those change frequently throughout the season. aga

it already made landfall as we said near fort walton. still quite a bit of moiture that has to make its way in over florida. i do that direction but i should be doing this direction because the track takes it farther to the north-northwest eventually. three to six inches of rain associated with claudette. let's take a look at the rest of the tropics which have become active all of a sudden. ana, a tropical depression, could become a tropical storm. it will bring heavy rain to puerto rico during the next 4 hours. hurricane bill, the first hurricane of the atlantic hurricane season. a minimal strength hurricane at this point, 75 miles per hour but it is well out to sea. got a lot of water to get through before it gets anywhere. it could become a major hurricane before all is said and done. we've dropped down to 7 # degrees now. dulles has dropped to 66. baltimore has dropped to 68 degrees at this hour. hears a lack at the radar for our region and for the eastern united states. and what we are seeing is dry conditions as fur as precipitatio
