be careful as you head out on 66 west of centreville.as we take a trip around the capital beltway, i want to show you this camera. it is getting worse on the american legion as you can see. it is pad bad for drivers out here. but on the left side you are seeing head lights coming in virginia, not much of a delay here. people are taking it slow. that's what we like to see on the roadways. outer loop traffic is not too bad heading in to virginia. we want to close with smaller roadways. we have concentrated on the interstates here at colesville. 29 in silver spring. we are seeing a little traffic, bus going by there. not too bad and people are taking it slow. you can see how slick the roads are here in silver spring. be extra careful. time your time wherever you are heading. and if you don't have to be on the roadways please stay home. stay with 9 news now for the latest on the weekend's super snowstorm. we will have continuing coverage on our website at wusa9.com. and check our updates on facebook and twitter. we will be on the air all day

you're back to 30 at aberdeen. 32 in centreville and you're just dropping below freezing new mexico ---'s most powerful doppler radar and we're following the snow passing through and watching this progression of moisture. you can see that from bottom right to upper left. that's the coastal storm taking over. now this storm is really starting to take hold. you can see all of the moisture back to the left. you can see the deep dark blues. there's the heavy snow to the west and pockets in between. the heavy snow band expected to move over baltimore and sit on top of us for quite a few hours and that's when we really get dumped on. 30 baltimore. 37 york, p.a. our blizzard warning kicks in at 10:00 a.m. and goes through 7:00 and we're expecting winds over 40 miles an hour. snowfall still in the 12 to 20- inch plus range. more up northward never turned over and big ice problems baltimore southbound to the eastern shore. ice with new heavy snow and wind. here's kim brown with a look at traffic. >> well off the top we just want to let drivers and commuters know if you don't have to go out the

two inches in ma nas sit and three inches in -- manassas and three inches in centreville. tomorrow morning windy and cold. temps 20-30. and there are the winds northwest at 15-25 and gusty. by the afternoon, not that much snow. maybe we dabble another inch or two out. that's about it. highs near 30. look at the wind northwesterly at 20-40 miles an hour and gusty and that is the problem. let me look at the satellite picture, radar combined. this is what is left of the first storm, the midwest storm. and now we see the coastal storm taking over just off the coast of north carolina. and as that intensifies and moves northward, our heaviest bands of snow will be later on tonight in the wee hours of the morning. probably tapering off by mid-morning. although it will still snow with this wraparound as we get into the afternoon, and that's when the winds will really, really pick up and that's what we're really most concerned about quite frankly. next seven days, snow tapers off tomorrow but windy and 30. windy through thursday. breezy through friday. 30s on friday. 30s over the w
