i am kevin steinberg, chief operating officer of the world economic forum. it is a pleasure to meet with all of you this afternoon together with this distinguished panel. the panel on my left represents the chair people of our governors meetings, private meetings that take place within the world economic forum by industry sector, which later feed into not only the annual meeting, but a set of working groups, discussions, projects, and ongoing efforts to ensure that we collectively address many of the issues that concern us most. this particular session is called our global industry outlook, and the purpose is to fold. the first is just take those meetings and to go to the additional step of sharing the insights, the conclusions, and the real opportunities that have come from them to the broader davos audience and to those of you who may be watching this from elsewhere, but to start the dialogue as well between industries and between different parts of society, so that we can collectively take those collective steps to improve the state of the world. we have
