from -- and hln analyst mike brooks. jose, starting with you, first inciden incident, when, december 31st, what happened? >> yes. good afternoon. >> hey. >> what happened, somebody at the gang task force building redirected a natural gas line and the gas poured inside the building, two officers arrived in the morning for their regular shift, smelled the gas and backed off. they called the fire department thinking it was a regular gas leak and what eed up happening while they were investigating they noticed that the pipe had been redirected into the building. and if anything had sparked the gas, there would have been quite an sploegs. >> -- explosion. >>> they boop bee trby trapped a fence. march 6th, thankfully the police officer was vigilant. and mar har 20th a threat to blow up cop cars in 48 hours. jose who do we believe is responsible for this? >> right now the investigators are being very tight lipped but obviously, there were some discussion of the motorcycle gang the day before a press conference the other day, th

mike brooks is with us as well, 26 years in laws enforcement. mike, you have to be scratching your head as well. first off, how is the victim doing here? >> she is still in what's being described as very critical condition. really that pretty much sums it up. still in the hospital, still has lots of folks hoping and wishing and praying for her. >> has her family spoken out? are they pretty much in grief right now? >> i would say definitely still in shock. obviously this is something no parent can prepare for. i saw them briefly today. they're very polite, but declined to speak, and i certainly understand that feeling. >> definitely. why, diana? what do we know about motive here? >> a little a bit complicated, actually. but i do my best to sum this up, which is to say the attacker, and bear with me, because we got new details within an hour from our sheriff here, the attacker was trying to reach another girl, a 13-year-old girl, and so he sent a text message to the victim, because the 13-year-old doesn't have her own cell phone, she would borrow a

law enforcement analyst mike brooks is here with a closer look at the case.uess his statements and dna, too, huh? >> some dna apparently from where he was living, and, you know, and other evidence they're not really saying. i'm thinking probably, chuck, trace evidence. because apparently they know where she was killed. so it's ironic this guy apparently lived along the route that somer would take to and from school. he was living there in october when she disappeared. >> he didn't know her? >> it's premeditated. did he notice her going back and forth and he planned to attack her? that's what it seems to me because she was walking with her brother, chuck, on the way home from school. they had a little tiff like kids do, and so she ran ahead. when they turned the corner, she was gone. they got home and she wasn't there. so they went back and she just basically vanished. but then it was good policework. you know, they knew -- they didn't know where she was, but an investigator followed a trash truck from orange park, florida, up to georgia. it's a landfill that
