let's check in with mark tamayo who definitely says it's getting warm out there. >> good afternoon. it looks like the forecast, right on track. right now on live stormtracker2, the clouds pulling back to near the shoreline. we still have a fog bank to talk about. we have a few patches of clouds around richmond. but also the clouds near the golden gate bridge and right near the immediate sheer line. but over san francisco some sunshine breaking through, especially out toward the downtown region. the fog bank will gradually clear back to near the shoreline. look outside, we can show you this. a beautiful shot. currently 61 degrees. yesterday san francisco was only 56 for an afternoon high. so already warmer than yesterday at this point. we had a cloudy start this morning pulling back to near the shoreline. that fog bank will clear back. the extended forecast, we do cool things off once again beginning on sunday and into monday of next week. current numbers just updated, santa rosa, 63 degrees. look at the 70s already showing up in fairfield, concord and live. those neighborhoods are o

here's mark tamayo. >> hi there, sal. good morning to you. the tree getting a little bit of a workout here with a bit of a breeze out here, winds around 10 to 20 miles an hour. pretty muff the same start as yesterday at this time. the fog will continue to pull back to near the shoreline as we head into the afternoon hours. weather story, we have the clouds. we begin our warming trend and the warmest locations by saturday could be approaching 90 degrees out towards livermore not the case for today. by 8:00 only in the upper 50s, 12:00 o'clock lower 70s and on track to reach the lower 80s. concord 55. oakland, 57. san jose in the mid-50s. san francisco downtown, only 53 degrees. this weather system up to the north has been responsible for the cooloff the last couple of days. this will gradually scoot out to the north and the east. as a result we'll warm things up about 4 to 8 degrees from yesterday's highs. that means more 80s inland for today. but we still are the fog hugging a good portion of the coastline. the beach not warming up too much.

let's check in mark tamayo. it was pretty nice across much of the bay area. >> that's right.peratures warmed up a little bit over yesterday's readings in most spots. right now the maps on the live stormtracker2, i can show you this, look at the thunderstorms developing over the sierra, around truckee and reno. those are thunderstorms. that will be a concern over the next 48 hours with the possibility of lightning strikes that could trigger fires across northern california. back to the bay area, here we go with the fog bank still hugging our cost line, still has not been moving out too much. as a result it's been keeping the coastal spots and the bay side community on the cool side. that cloud bank will gradually cool back with an onshore breeze. that breeze will kick in overnight. as a result we're talking about winds 15 to 25 miles an hour. there we go. in san francisco only in the 50s. la fayette, mostly clear skies and temperatures mainly in the upper 70s. 79. you can see antioch topped out at 94. san francisco at 60 degrees. san jose in the upper 70s and morgan hill, 89.

meteorologist mark tamayo is up next with the changes in store. . >>> well, the bay area micro climate really showed up with the tymprange of nearly ho degrees, fog is on coastside at least the past few hours and the fog could return by late tonight into early morning after midnight. >> the fog will probably reform between 12:00 and 1:00, patches on the immediate shoreline, especially closer to san francisco/san mateo coastline. if you started for a driver at ocean beach at 3:00 this afternoon, temperatures around 60 degrees. look at what happens though making the drive across the bay, a big jump in temps jrpts 90s showing up towards concord and livermore and even a few neighborhoods approaching 100 degrees at 3:00. antioch topped out officially at 100 degrees. here is a look at the big range of numbers with san francisco topping out 64. santa rosa in the upper 80s. san josi lower 80s and livermore in the mid-80s. fog showing up earlier this evening. a bit of a breeze for this evening. cool trend will begin for tomorrow, but the fog, the marine layer will deepen as we head into tuesday

let's go to mark mark tamayo who can give us an update. >> at sfo they have parallel runways.he fog is there, it impacts visibilities. they have to shut down run of the runways and as a result, the arrival rate is dramatically reduced. currently around 55 degrees. a look at satellite. we do have the low clouds and fog across a good portion of the bay area. if we can take a look at the stormtracker, i have it cued out for you. you can see towards san francisco, san rafael, san francisco. here is a closer inspection right now. there is the overcast over the bay. we'll come close into san francisco. those delays around 15 to 45 minutes with na ground delay program. potentially that could be lasting until 2:00 this afternoon. it happens frequently in the summertime months when you have that pattern. first we will talk about current numbers, most of the region in the 50s. san jose, 5. fairfield, 5. there's the fog covering a good portion of the good bay. even a few patches inland. as we head into the afternoon. the cloud bank pulls back to near the shoreline. we could have a few pa
