it's good to follow jonah. we do this quite a bit. from now on i'll insist i go first, jonah.e are all moving down slowly. i'd like to pick up where he left off with broad perspectives about liberalism. i'm struck by the moment of where we are right now based on those comments which there are a lot of interesting analysis going on about liberals that we must remember is best understood by a lot of analysis of people done in this room. there's scholars from claremont, myself, and others. going back to some scholarship that grew out of the 1950s, people like forest mcdonald that launched the attack and the federalist papers and especially the work of harry jackman. all of that is important to explain the moment we are in today. those views do not dominate political science. as a very quick look at the schedule of the american political science association will prove a great length if you look at it over the course of the last say 50 years. you see, the left has long maintained what they call the modern administrative state is inevitable, permanent, and ever-expanding. the ride t
