. >> reporter: the scene here at third a independent enue northwest right from the capital is all back to normal now. with light holiday traffic. the movie making mere had some unexpected real life drama. transformer movies are filled with action. but there's hours of borin set-up for simple trans former three movie scenes now going on in washington. lots of waiting around, waiting, waiting d waiting. then a burst of action. but in one unscripted moment, there was this scene. watch that yellow car captured on a small video camera. it was sideswiped by a real life police car. he thought it w part of the movie. >> i was over there filming the scene. and the police car must have drove through, not to an emergencor something. the car did not see them and they just hit head on. >> i saw the wreck. i thought it was part of the movie. did you? >> yeah. at first i did. and then obviously it wasn't. >> reporter: the real life wreck shut down production at third and independence but transformer iii will continue shooting all week here in downtown washington and part of arlington. >> pretty excit
