we provide services for people who are not able to get out into the community to get the services they need. we provide those services for them. we are a community that does not have a supermarket, and i found that most of the seniors are not able to get food, so i developed a program where we have 35 volunteers who take boxes of food to seniors twice a month. we have 51 seniors that we serve, and the age requirement is eight to -- 18 -- 80 to 100. we also work with other service providers in the community to make sure that all services available for seniors and the community are address. we also started a breast cancer support group. this is to work with the community because we do not have that service in our community, and we are working with the lyons group. they are providing 400 meals for the thanksgiving holiday, and we are also working with them to provide the services -- provide that service for the whole community aware -- provide that service for the whole community. supervisor campos: thank you, and thank you for all you do. >> i should have said before, hot off the press,

i want to be able to lead a full life. the only way that i'm able to get from place to place this by using a fully accessible public transit system like meany -- muni. >> the americans with disabilities act of 1990 is a wide-ranging federal civil- rights law that prohibits discrimination against persons with disabilities. title two of the ada addresses access to public services, including public transportation for persons with disabilities. it requires transit operators to call out stops at transfer points, major intersections, and major destinations, and to announce particular stocks requested by customers with disabilities. stop announcements are especially important for passengers who are blind or have low vision. these individuals cannot travel independently if they are not assured of getting off at their intended destination point. >> welcome, dancers. bring them in. coming to you live, san francisco city hall, the indians have all arrived. how about a big round of applause for our native american dancers in the house

if we are able to find alternative funds, we will offer them up with the idea that we would be able to back fill the other projects. as i mentioned, $120 million in prop 1a, 1b funds. then we can work together to find alternatives for all of our other needs in the agency. it translates to about $27 million a year that we would have to back fill if we were to give up the money for the central subway project from those remaining 1a, 1b funds. we look forward to working with the mta to come up with funding, or hopefully the federal government will be able to provide us with some transportation funding. supervisor campos: thank you. these kinds of challenges are challenges that happen with any project of this magnitude. it is probably exacerbated because of the economic climate we are working in. i am just wondering if there is anything that this body, whether it transportation authority, board of supervisors, can do to help advocate for these funds. many of us have made clear that we are committed to the project, so what can be done to help us get to that end result? we are talking about
