i sold my car a buick for 500 dollars in a seedy area in oakland. by spring i raised 200 dollars. my marth was a principal at an elementary school. she invited me to talk to the kids. when i was leaving a fourth grader looked me in the eye and said, i have a piggy bank at home and i will help you raise money for the school in pakistan. i didn't think anything of it. 6 weeks later the school is raised 65,000 penes. >> main stage's loud efts performance was about bief the detroit native high strung. they had an energyic performance. the concert was a plash back to the kinks and the who and tv shows like hala blue. ladies and gentlemen. the high strung. you have seen a buick roadmap-- but i rented a buick and we got to this part where i was veering off the road and my parents said we must stop the car. they had been through jim crow and they had to go through the experience of not knowing whether they would be able to stop and having to gather up, pack all the food in my-- they might possibly need all the i.c.e. and water you might need if your radiator went out and make sure you had a spare tire working, all of this effort they had to go through for a simple drive. my parents have been through that so they said to me as i was veering off the road, stopped the car. we have been through this before ourselves. if you won't stop, let us out. gm has gotten rid of four brands, saturn, hummer and pontiac and they are focusing on buick and cadillac and gmc and chevy. but they have to regain some market share. they have been steadily losing to ford and it's up to them to regain the public trust in their automobiles. it's been six years since gm turned a profit for a full year, allen. >> they got a lot riding on the volt, no pun intended, riding on. the volt the electric car that's really their mainstay right now for the future. >> reporter: that's one of the big focuses right now. you are going to see that out of all automakers looking for the hybrid and trying to come up with all-electric vehicles to turn away from the focus on fossil fuel attention. but overall, gm has to show that its cars are indeed on par with toyota and honda and hyundai and ford. if we can gain that it will gain the public trust and we'll see its stock continue to go further but right now probably going to hang in the $3 3 to $35 range where it is now for some time going forward. >> thank you, jason brooks. good to see you. >>> it's not what anybody wants
