his name was john wesley wright senior. they worked others land in utah. that's eutaw, alabama. i'm not kidding. when he was 19 years old, he decided that he wanted to get book writing in a college, so he asked people coming through how a colored man could get educated, and they told him about little stillman college a presbyterian school. he saved up and went to college. his first year went great. after the first year, they asked how he would pay for his second year. he said i'm out of cotton, and they said you're out of luck. they said, they want to be presbyterian ministers, and they have what's called a scholarship. my grandfather said, you know, that's what i wanted to be too. that's exactly what i had in mind. [laughter] my family has been presbyterian and college educated ever since.
