a gao report shows sex offenders are slipping through background checks meant to keep them out. earlier i spoke with chris logan of the organization enough is enough, an organization focused on protecting children. >> one of the things the report showed us is a lot of times these perpetrators are targeting children. they're trying to be in schools. they're trying to be in places where they have easy access to our kids. what the report really highlighted is there are unfortunately a lot of schools today not taking the necessary precautions, not employing preventive measures to make sure that their staff are not going to be sexually victimizing children. that includes things like performing adequate background checks employment histories, even paying attention to what is on an individual's resume. in a number of cases in this report schools really dropped the ball when it comes to protecting kids online. >> reporter: in one state where they asked one of the teachers who was applying for a job who had a past, he actually answered the question correctly and they still hired him. >>
