the first point to make is the hanc center is the only genuine recycling center. the rest of buybacks that only accept california redemption materials. these are so-called recyclings do not accept mixed paper, cardboard, plastic bottle oz glass. they are accepted for dropoff at hanc. these centers attract more homeless than hanc because they deal exclusively from the high value recyclables taken from the blue bins. the second point i would like to make is the hanc center is also a reuse center. there's an area called a free table. here's items of value can be left for others to take for free. these are not items which would be diverted from the landfill by goodwill or other organizations. as an example i collect and repair bikes for the cast worker house. in the past two, three years i found eight, ten bicycles at hanc center. they were in extreme disrepair and could not have been sold or converted by good will. finally, i would like to address the notion that curbside recycling sent eliminated the need for centers like hanc. by that logic, isn't salinas valley un

i run a senior center. and the idea of recycling within the senior center, a nonprofit center, was very foreign to our seniors. within -- i would say within two years -- it actually took us two years, but we managed to educate our seniors into what recycling is about, how to do recycling, why it is important. and it took a while. but i have to say in has been a great experience -- it has been a great experience working with seniors, doing recycling. what i would say is that recycling should be brought close to home, close to the community, close to senior centers, close to businesses. recycling should be done everywhere in the city. it is something that should not be relegated -- that should not be relegated to one location. and especially allocation -- a location that is not really conducive to the purpose of our parks. so, as a proponent of recycling, and as a proponent of a native plants, as a proponent of community gardens, i will support this measure for this proposal. president buell: seeing no other

in 2010, that is the year that the last bus came out of the transbay terminal center. you can see a picture of the last bus that left the terminal that day. the subsequent day on saturday morning of august 7, we opened phase one of the temporary terminal. last december we completed case to. -- phase two. we then had our ground breaking ceremony which was attended by the secretary of transportation, speaker pelosi, and other dignitaries. you can see a shot of that wonderful event. demolition began on the existing terminal on august 14 with demolition of the east flu. we brought on board a facility manager, linc facilities, who maintain the facility. we also worked closely with the transit operators and riders. we have had a very smooth transition and now we have completed the temporary terminal but we still need to install some more benches. we will be reported today the condition of the restrooms for transit passengers that use the tab per terminal. in terms of demolition, you will hear more in the construction of date later, but we started demolition of the eastern st
