and just to give people a sense of it, it was a lynching, but it was the way the lynching happened. i'm not going to go into the details of the physical part of it, but the fact is that the posse was so determined to find this man that the authorities found it impossible to keep him protected from the posse. they had to, they had to transport him from pensacola to -- all over the panhandle. and be every time they got -- every time they got him to a jail, the posse was right on their tail, so they eventually had to take him to alabama, across state lines, and it was there that they actually came and got him. and, you know, it's a sad moment in american history. but i knew, i had never heard of him before, and it's my belief that all americans, we need to confront the good and the bad of what's happened within our borders. >> absolutely. >> and i did not know anything about that. >> i grew up here, and i didn't know. a lot of that. so thank you. >> thank you. >> i remember reading sometime ago that a chicagoing defender was instrumental in migration. did you find anything on that? >>
