the camp -- california high-speed rail authority. the sustainable strategy became another area of significant activity as we entered in phase closely with government and municipal transportation authority. this work will not only bear fruit in the next year as the regional transportation plan for infrastructure and investment strategy begins to reflect san francisco's needs and expectations, as well as its competitive position when it comes to projects that deliver performance by an efficiency in an already compact urban environment. excuse me. i personally spent a significant amount of time working on this issue, reaching out to my colleagues and authorities around the bay area to cultivate the different elements. if this was not enough, we manage to get opportunities in 2010 securing the additional $5 million for san francisco transportation projects in the future. it was our first and only ballot measure to receive the effort. we have finally prepared the authority for the issue that i expect will happen in 2011 with another 100% clean fiscal audit. lots of activity. very rewarding results for everyone here. the pleasure of working with all of you in this collegial manner

the issue of raising revenues for transportation. what we are likely to see, if we are lucky, is hanging on to the amounts of money available currently, authorized currently within the budget for transportation purposes, they are in the vast majority for highway projects. but ithe prospect for the reauthorization of the surface projects act on the six year bill, already very late -- it is several years delayed by the outgoing congress -- because of lack of consensus on revenue sources. it is probably going to have a tough time getting to a final vote this year as well. we are certainly hoping so. the new chairman of the committee has said that he would make this reauthorization a major priority for his committee. i do not doubt that he believes that. the question is that there would be consensus in congress. i am talking about a situation where congress has failed to come to agreement on even a 5 cent increase in a gas tax. so, not an encouraging picture. we will continue our advocacy to try to maintain support for the projects we have in the pipeline. we have major projects to meet support commitment. the one that comes to mind as increasing si

the congestion pricing study, the transportation authority board unanimously approved the final report. excuse me. the board unanimously approved the report and voted to approve additional studies. that means there will be additional studies being undertaken for the congestion pricing. they did exclude the southern gateway scenario of what is to be considered. then we have our city commissioner voted on by the board of supervisors as the interim mayor. i anticipate that will be ratified tomorrow. of course we would like to welcome our new supervisors. i also would like to congratulate jocelyn came for her appointment to the executive director for the entertainment commission. a couple of final calendar items. a very 17, the small business network and the council of district merchants will be hosting their joint event at the mint. it is to meet the mayor and the supervisors. small business week is may 16 thru 21. that saturday is the shop your neighborhood. i would like to think commissioner adams for his willingness to be decommissioned appointee for sitting on the small business week
