let's hear it for caltech. first of all, what a great school. they graduate so many brainiacs from there. 31 alumni and faculty have won the nobel prize. but basketball? not so good. in fact really, really bad. how bad? they hadn't won a conference game since january of 1985. since reagan was president. that is until last night. they beat occidental 46-45. now there's no turning back for the division 3 caltech beavers. the beavers are on fire. it took just 26 years. >>> and a dream come true for a baseball trail blazer. justine siegel already owns a lot of firsts. first woman to coach a professional baseball team, the minor league brockton rocks. four years as a college level men's assistant coach. and now a new achievement, becoming the first woman to pitch batting practice for a major league team. the cleveland indians allowed her the honor of throwing bp and in turn siegel, a huge indians fan, wore a patch honoring christina taylor green, the little girl killed in tucson, who was the granddaughter of baseball's dallas green and the only girl

caltech is a schoolle where some of the nation's greatest scientists go to learn.ut tonight there is joy on campus. not forpleasure accomplishment, but on the basketball court. last night in the season finale, caltech beat its rival on a last second free throw. okay. nice. you see everyone rushing the court. but this was the first conference win in 310 games. the losing streak dates back to 1985. by the way, the kid who hit the game winning free throw, he's not going to the lakers or warriors. his first job out of college will be in mountain view at google. he'll be a software engineer. >> and that's a slam dunk in life. >> if a november natura >> phenomenal. >>> the hiker who cut off his arm after being trapped by boulder is taking his chances. >> basically t icht c-tac-top with ping-pong bok balls. minute to win it right here at 8:00. and james franco is nominated for an oscar for playing him in 127 hours. he's also hosting the oscar this is year. >> have you seen the movie? >> i haven't yet, but it's one of the ones i need to see this weekend. >> hey, lawrence.
