. >> former abc7 reporter noelle cisneros is in christ church and we spoke to her minutes ago. here is what she had to say. >> what we are seeing is a three-square kilometer area of the central city has been cordoned off. it is cordoned off one because there is so much earthquake damage, but late this afternoon there is a hotel here. it is the tallest hotel in christchurch. an aftershock hit the hotel and the hotel started to lift. they decided they had to evacuate the hotel and they are anticipating it will collapse. they have cleaned out the whole area within two blocks of that hotel because not only are they concerned about the very evident damage that could occur from a collapsing hotel, but that it could send shock waves out into the neighboring area and trigger more collapsing buildings. when i was at the airport at christchurch i was waiting for my photographer. also on the flight was a search and rescue team. they came off the plane and into the international area in their uniforms. the people who were laying around on the ground and looking just exhausted at the airpor
