so, but you need to be protected. it is cold out there. 35 in concord. 36 degrees in livermore. if you are waking up somewhere outside of this san jose unified school district or taking your kids to school, bundle your children up this morning. we'll rise to a temperature of 45 degrees by noon in livermore. and as we head throughout this afternoon temperatures are going to be pretty mild. so you need the jacket throughout the day today rounding autoat 55 in san jose. 56 in fremont. and 55 degrees today in oakland. so we are going to see a dry day today. dry tomorrow as well. and then the rain is back heading into thursday. the first round of rain is looking very similar to what we saw over the weekend. just as much moisture, but it will be colder. and as we see the very cold air settle into the bay area, as we head into late friday into saturday morning we are talking about the snow levels possibly falling to 500 feet. so flurries on the valley floor. definitely likely. will we see a dusting of snow on the valley floor? that's the big question all the meteorologists in the area

so here's a look at the current wind gusts out of the north at 17 fairfield livermore. 28 mph and lookingkland as well. and so this will also be a factor right on through 10:00. but it's also kept the numbers up. in fact, we are well ahead of where we should be this morning. we should see those 40s and 50s but already 50s and 60s out there. so it's obvious we're going to see another very warm day out there. clear, breezy and mild this morning with more record highs today and much cooler next week. in fact, the cooling begins tomorrow. here's a look you can expect today, santa rosa 80 degrees. the record was 79, almost 100 years ago. we'll break that today. napa should see a high of 78. average or record heat was in the mid-70s. san francisco should at least tie the record. oakland 77 today. 76 in livermore. notice right on down the line for san jose. temperatures will be above the records that were back in 1987. look at this huge dome of high pressure. you've noticed the clouds going up and over the ridge. do you see that? that's a trough developing well up to the north and west. that's g

westbound side as well for spectator slowing, lots of activity there so you can see already a backup building westbound 580 through livermorese we have a wind advisory in effect for the altamont pass so that's affecting the drive on 580, as well. slow and go speeds westbound from the altamont pass over to 680. you can see the camera shaking this morning. still nice speeds though from 880 to 101. only about 14 minutes. but again because of the wind advisory use caution as you cross the span. 880 through oakland, speeds doing okay as well but again we are seeing some pretty windy conditions through here also. northbound you're clear though from 238 to the maze. once you hit the maze, metering lights are off and traffic nice approaching the toll plaza. there is no wind advisory for the bay bridge. but we have reports of high winds anyway. things are clear across the upper deck into san francisco. through san francisco, if you want to use mass transit instead, bart, ace, muni and caltrain all running on time. 101 in the a bad drive actually looking good. windy conditions through san mateo bridge. 101 central freeway, traffic is

have a little bit of cloud cover out here, the cold blast that's with us is so strong that we already have 40s right now in livermore. 47 in fairfield, 47 in napa, and 48 currently in santa rosa. so throughout tonight, isolated rainfall for the entire state with this instability passing across california. this is a big-time punch here, folks, at least for california's standards. that cold blast is going to stay with us as we head throughout tomorrow. and not only that, but as raj hinted out, we do have a third storm system that's going to be coming our way as we head into thursday's forecast. so let's get a look here. as we head throughout the morning hours, slick roads and also windy conditions at times. by the noon hour, the rain starts to ramp up a little bit here with the chance of some isolated thunderstorms, possibly even a little bit of hail as well. and throughout the evening hours, that's when a little bit more consistent rainfall will be moving in as we head into thursday's forecast. it will start off cold with plenty of upper 30s and low 40s tomorrow morning. and then by 11:00 a.m., this is the big thing.

let's move up to the north livermore showing a pretty healthy cell over you so looks like light rain may be falling in your neighborhoods and the altamont pass. so far i don't think there's been any problems with the pass with traffic but we'll touch with frances and make sure that is connect. around the bay shore and out to the coast we have mid-30s in the north bay valleys and upper 30s, low 40s the east bay valleys. a chilly rain today. that's our first highlight. best chance of that falling in the south and the east bay. all right. showers. we'll have those again tomorrow with some thunder and hail. looks like it will be dry and chilly for sunday. a look at the rainfall about 2:00 this afternoon. takes over about two-thirds of the bay area. the north bay the least likely area to see the steadier rain but you still could have a scattered shower. may make 50 around oakland and palo alto. the monterey bay it's raining now. going to continue to rain all day and your higher elevations are going to continue to get snow during the afternoon hours. temperatures upper 40s, near 50 for you
