before the unveiling, the director of cultural affairs spoke to artist jim campbell about the concepts behind bourbon reflection and how he created the work. >> i'm really excited to have your installation on public view starting today here on market street. you created a site-specific work. can you talk about that? >> yes, i looked at two or three different locations, and this one seemed the best. i work with customer electronics, so indoors seemed the best for the work. i also like how close it was 2 market street itself. it is only about 10 feet away, so i chose this location. >> what is the duration? if someone were to stand in front of your installation today. >> at the moment, it is 12 minutes, but i've been thinking about adding footage over the time because it is going to go through a couple of seasons. >> could you describe a little bit in terms of what your creative process is? >> it is a curtain, and image made up of a curtain, so it is very valuable, and the idea was to use this technology that i've been using for the last 10 years, low resolution imagery, to reflect market

we are seeing on and off again showers in campbell, cupertino. for the most part it is like this morning, as you make your drive to be surprised if you come across to heavy rain. we saw some yellow on the maps near walnut creek in oakland. taking a quick look at future cast 4 for saturday. that's the next big storm. this is what it looks like at 3 am saturday morning heavy showers to the north, advancing clocks to 6:00 a.m. is widespread with heavy showers will into the north bay, by 3:00 p.m. showers will be fine. sunday another brief system comes then this will be a wet weekend the system doesn't last long. showers for saturday, lighter showers sunday. you have that to look forward to that i guess. your highs this afternoon 55 degrees expect to happen bay, 55 san jose, livermore, antioch, you san rosa. you get the idea mid-50s for everyone. once we get past the wet whether for the weekend, we are mellowing in out monday, tuesday was random showers from the weekend storm. by thursday, friday we warming up back into the '70s. >> erica: to answer

and actually increase our 2010 campbell offerings by 30%, accommodating nearly 15,000 camp registrations. this summer, we are prepared to do the same. we'll be offering 67 types of camps. including some of our traditional day camps. sports camps, art camps, and very exciting new camps. he will be taught to develop digital story lines or photos and other multimedia options. it is perfect for kids in alternative action sports. they will learn the basics of skateboarding, bmx biking, and skateboarding. they will program robots to do cool tasks. our to rein in the venture camps, they will go through the park and play adventure games. we have significant emphasis on the learned to swim programming during the summer. we have a really fun one that i participated in last summer, a camp called bite me. they learn to shark fish. urban adventure programming and art exposure camps. we are growing our programming from last year. we hope to have over 27,000 camp registrants. we are also, for the second summer in a row offering 47 extended care sessions. we never did this prior to last summer, but you

. >> oh, my name is chris campbell. i and an architect in san francisco. i reviewed the unborn little impact report for the parkmerced project, and this was based on the 1940's-era car planning a. more transportation, better bicycle paths, better -- there are missing amenities, such as community gardens, restaurants, coffee shops, etc.. potable water, consumption, and water reduction. it seems to me that by going through with this plan, park merced would be and out of date approached and creating a potential international model for urban sustained. thank you. president chiu: could you pull the microphone? >> i have lived in a lot of areas of san francisco. there really are not a lot of options for affordable housing. other young couples will of the bay area, we love san francisco and this represents a great place for us tuesday. it creates so many jobs and is sustainable. it creates a fantastic opportunity to revitalize a part of the city that is, frankly, very much in need of it, and i see no reason why this should not move forward. thank you. president c
