i have been with them for about a year. i have been a regular for more than 10 years. let me highlight three main reasons in support of my appointment to this committee. first, i think i would note your attention to my professional experience. i spend about six years on wall street, 1st with merrill lynch, then i worked directly for the new york city comptroller's office where my role was to help coordinate many of the tasks and the city to issue bonds and notes. i've also worked as a financing professional for private companies, also for startups. i've negotiated contracts and settlement agreements and save companies millions of dollars. i want to continue to serve the public. for the past couple of years, i have been on the board directors for the child welfare league of america and i have been share of the audit committee. we have had a clean audits in spite of challenging financial times. this is a very important organization to the country and i continue to serve actively. we have three meetings per year and monthly meetings on the phone. since moving to the area,

i worked in the private sector for a while. i started as a volunteer. then was brought on board part- time and then full time. as many nonprofit employees do, i went on to work for the bureau of urban forestry. i have been in my position since we applied for the council appointment. i am just recently back from the municipal forestry institute. it was a week-long the leadership intensive held at the arbor day lodge and met with colleagues from across the u.s. that work for nonprofit municipalities and state agencies. it was extremely invigorating and also relieve validating to touch on a couple of initiatives that i supported. since i have been elected chair by my peers in the last year, i have been extremely cognizant of our use of time, especially the department of the environment's precious staff time that they dedicate to our meetings. one of the initiatives we were looking at was to look at our schedule and reduce our actual formal meetings and support a lot of work and informal group work where we would review our annual retreat and establish goals

unfortunately, i am a former member. i served in 2009 and 2010. when the chief had his summit, he handed down a guide or rules. we read we could not serve on two cabs. we had to live within a police precinct in order to serve at that station. that meant that people that live in a supervisory district may not be able to serve on the police cap that the neighborhood group serves. i am rather surprised. i did not really picked up that the police were supporting having a definition of community policing. i don't get how you can have a conversation without defining what you mean by community policing the. i won't repeat what a lot of people have said. i know karen has spoken abou t this. there is no liaison to the cab. i was a member at the agency, they lost some funding, and that person was never appointed. we don't get information from cabs any longer. i did serve on a cab, really informed. i wonder if there is still a cab. we need more trust in the police department. we need more transparency. we had a foot patrol removed while i sat on the cab.
