on the way up through the country, we decided to try to find some of the cheapest prices in the bay area. it is all relative, of course. kimberly is in the south bay with a look at that. >> reporter: hello. it does not get any cheaper than. this we've looked all over. and here in the bay area, this is what we found here at this safeway in campbell. gas is at $3.87 for a gallon of regular unleaded. the average price, $4.22. drivers know the bargain they're getting. while it's quiet now, earlier today cars were lined up waiting to fill up. people are willing to drive out of their way to get a deal on gas. drivers said they need to save every penny, especially going into the summer months when gas prices go up even higher. some analysts say we could see prices here hovering just below $5 a gallon. why are prices so high? a senior petroleum analyst for gas buddy.com said it is a combination of issues. the weak u.s. economy, low gas supplies and libya where crude oil was interrupted by the revolt. that same analyst said california is much higher than the in the average because the gas we use

but the pinch is expected to be felt here in the bay area. local health care clinics are bracing for huge cuts. several clinics are debating how to slash their own budgets while still serving more patients. let's bring in monte francis who joins us from san francisco. how serious is the situation there? >> reporter: raj, here at northeast medical services they receive a majority of their funding from the federal government. they operate five clinics here in the bay area, and there were plans to add a sixth clinic in daily city, but now those plans are on hold. 15-year-old malena is one of the 50,000 patients who receives affordable health care at northeast medical services. without the clinic, health care is something her mother says the family might not be able to pay for. >> i receive all the care here and the doctors are great. they really take care of my daughter. >> reporter: community clinics are exspengted to serve 40 million americans by 2015 as part of the federal health care reform act. but the current budget agreement takes away $6

the parents of a young bay area woman are speaking out. he's accused of the murder of the couple's daughter. >> reporter: the young woman's bruised and beaten body was found here in the hills of fairfax more than three decades ago. her stepfather described to me on the telephone today the horrible task of driving from san jose to marin county to identify his daughter's body. he says her wounds and injuries showed she put up quite a fight. tonight the family finally knows who may be responsible for that brutal killing. >> i'm glad he was arrested and i hope they hang him. >> reporter: that's what roxine's parents hope for her killer. he's charged with four counts of murder. investigators say they found photographs and riotings by naso in his reno home that links him to the victims. rogash's parents say it's reopened their wounds but are glad someone's finally in custody. >> final le getting a little closure because you never know. >> reporter: but they're shocked to learn he may also be linked to the alphabet murders in upstate new york. in
