you're right, josh. i mean, think about it.he windfall of tax revenues, compared to projections is somewhere in the magnitude of a little over $7 billion. almost $7.5 billion over the 18-month period. and that is a difficult thing when you are jerry brown trying to talk about taxes. but what i think will be really interesting to watch is what happens to his public reaction, public approval with this veto? i mean, i think that there are people who believe that brown made the right call. that the budget that the legislature passed, the democrats passed was full of gimmicks. it did not solve the problem. it would have broken his campaign promise about gimmicks, and i think that brown may get credit for this as standing up to the sacramento culture. even though i would argue that the democrats in the legislature that put this budget in place thought they were being pragm pragmat pragmatic. they thought they were doing what they needed to do to move the ball down the field. i think the public probably is going to be on brown's side.
