[applause] i never know what to wear. today, i thought i was going to be of the building, look like the building. some say i look like the first lady. i am not sure what that meant. i will take that job because it is less responsibility and get to travel around. i love dressing up and coming to city hall knowing where part of the city just as we are apart of city hall. this is a great crowd today. i have seen great improvements. the flag this year is new and crisp. the crowd is beautiful. everybody is organized. some of you dressed up and some of you did not. i know how many days i have left. todayhave 22 days left and getting kind of anxious. >> for raymond, a strict routine is what's kept him on track. >> i go to chow and i eat my breakfast. i go back, my cellie is already at work. i clean, 8:00, 8:30 i have guo to school for prerelease. after school gets out about 2:30 my friend gets out of pai and we run laps and squats and sit-ups and do 100 burpies. after that, i kick back, watch tv for a little bit and after chow i come back and i'll either do some beadwork or i'll watch tv but usually do i some beadwork and 7:00 go to night yard and that's my time to go out and walk around. after yard i got tv programs that are from 9:00 to 11:00 i like to watch. >> i've been beading, trying to learn all i can about different stitches. very intricate. one mistake you have to take the whole thing apart. this is the most recent one i made. it's a bear claw. i thunderbird in here. it takes me out of here. it relaxes me. it's a good pastime. when came to prison i left behind a pregnant wife.

i was one of the chief organizers today for the youth rally. i hope you all may have looked of the window. some of the supervisors came. we definitely appreciate it. i am here to support the resolution that supervisor cohen just introduce to you all. by no means are we speaking against the cross dresser in favor of deshawn. they both should have been able to board the plane. you cannot invent the rules for different passengers. we in the progressive city of san francisco need to take a stand and say clear his name. let him go on with his life. come together like the san francisco community. we brought a lot of youth from bayview hunters point. you would've thought it was a stop the violence march. recognize that. it is very hard to get used. we had sought of market years. we had western addition news. we had youth from the trail hills -- petrero hills, something on non of with -- something unknown with turf wars. i so appreciate you, commissioner, and everything you did to make today success. i truly appreciate that. i am not one to get on your

[laughter] i am honored and humbled to be here before you today. i want to thank the mta board for their vote of confidence in appointing me to this position. i came to local governments, to public service and local governments 10 or 11 years ago because i love cities. i think cities are incredibly important. they will be potential to enable people to access education and jobs and culture and diversity, interaction and innovation. they also hold the potential to about us grow so that we can grow in ways that we are not spreading out to the west out -- to the rest of the planet that we need to sustain itself. for those reasons, i decided about a dozen years ago to devote my professional life to trying to make this work, to make them better places to live and work in. for me, thinking about how that applies to san francisco, because of our density, because of our hills, our strong opinions about everything, transportation is essentially important to maintaining and enhancing the quality of life for the people of san francisco, people whether they are
