for a look at how the markets are reacting to those numbers let's bring in cnbc's melissa francis. >> i'm looking at the nasdaq bun 1%, the s&p down 1.. the dow the down triple digits. all the sectors getting hammered. everything is lower including oil. that's the one bright spot. it's getting hit because traders are anticipating slower growth in the economy, we're seeing crude oil down more than $2 on the day. i had the ceo of wd-40 on a little while ago. he asked him if he's hiring. he said, yes. he said big businesses are getting blamed for not hiring, what's holding it back. he said first of all, he is hiring. what's stopping him from spending more is the uncertainty out there. all the fear and consumers aren't buying a lot of products. it's this vicious cycle where consumers have to buy to get companies to spend, but they can't until they get a job sort of bleak out there. >> the private sector really when you take a look at the most recent job reports have stayed pretty consistent. they haven't blipped up or down. >> that's really the case. we're bumping along the bottom here. t
