within the mission, basically covering the park and the other parks in the mission, we have seven partners and one supervisor. in terms of dolores right now, we have two gardners, half of a custodian, and other resources volunteers to help us out. that is kind of our baseline, which goes into that $400,000 budget, which is again a fairly rough estimate. so, locating the abandoned the muni station, off the bridge at 19th and church, running through the parke -- basically the station itself is with the mta. we do have a lot of maintenance activities there. here on this slide, the access point to the park is treacherous. there is no sidewalk with stairwells coming out of the park into traffic. an issue that my colleagues will talk about shortly. again, to show you the photos of the bridge, underneath that we have the station. to give a sense of what is left with graffiti, the challenge this day to day. in terms of it being a huge maintenance burden, it is a daily sight for the writers on the line where thousands of people run by the abandoned station every day. again, just to get a quick esti

karen could well with the san francisco parks trust. we're also a philanthropy and advocacy organization. you know about some of the organization would have done for parks. we have worked very hard for years to ensure that the parks serve the public. it is undeniable there is a funding crisis right now for the parks. we're concerned this legislation requires the department do certain things without providing funding for them. it is an unfunded mandate and it could have-the unforeseen consequences. -- and it could have negative but forseen consequences. i find the language very unfair and inflammatory. in cases where recreation and park department cannot staff a clubhouse, there least at low- cost to nonprofits. the actual term for these organizations is public benefit corporations. they are not private. i realize it seems people are being excluded, but this is not exclusionary ior being leased to a country club or business. it that is what the language somehow seems to suggest. they are being leased to public benefit corporations. we wou

it was to extract the value from our parks. in carrying out that policy, there was no discussion with the public, no involvement with the public. this ordinance gives us the opportunity to involve the public in this very critical decision. that is what it is all about. it is very simple. there has been a big smokescreen. there has been numerous red herring thrown out in order to try to confuse the public about this measure. it is much more simple than all of those allegations pretend. the big issue for all of us is how do we find the parks. that is the big question we keep getting asked. the people of san francisco have repeatedly voted money for the parks. they have never turned down the park's bond. by 2/3 votes they have provided $170 million. they have extended the open space. if this policy continues within the department, there are so many angry people in the city that will no longer vote to support our parks. people are angry, saying we have done all we can to support our parks but are having them taken away, having acces
