a little cooldown i think coming through the middle part of this week. why have we seen such cool temperatures? it's this persistent trough of low pressure. it's not big, it's not strong. but it's also not moving anywhere. it's going to be sticking with us throughout the week. and overall, maybe for the next 30 to 60 days. the newest climate models that go out two months are indicating we're going do see below normal temperatures throughout the end of the summer. while the eastern u.s. continues to cook with above average temperatures. readings tonight are going to be mainly in the 50s to about 60 degrees. still slightly humid. 56 in livermore. 56 in san rafael. and 53 in napa overnight tonight. again, the fog thickening out through the early morning hours. we'll wake up to that tomorrow morgan hill, 85, afternoon high. i think we will see a little bit of warming through the santa clara valley getting you into the low to mid-80s around evergreen and san jose. still, that strong sea breeze keeping the bay cool. 66 san francisco. 73 san mateo. and the mari

head through tomorrow and the remainder of the week our temperatures drop like a rock so another cooldown. this morning we're watching fog for you especially in the north bay, two miles of visibility in santa rosa and this fog is staying to the north of the golden gate bridge. we expect to creep to the south as we head through the next couple of hours. right now the deepest pockets will be found in the north bay. 48 in novato, 50 in santa rosa, on the way to a pretty comfortable day in san francisco, 74, 75 for oakland and hey, if you're waking up with us in the city we'll tell you why you want to get outside today. things change as we head through the next few days, we're talking about drizzle, dreary weather. we'll break it down coming up. let's check your drive. >> most of the area around the maze looking good, but i'm seeing a couple of blips, one around the caldecott tunnel and eastbound away from berkeley and toward the split with the bridge. things are moving as far as the chp so we'll track that. we have construction further north away from the bay bridge, again eastbound 80 betwe

after that we've had a cooldown which has carried almost now for a month.so if you think these temperatures are cool, they are. it's 59 already. sometimes that fog doesn't come in until early in the morning. it's already there now. so that tells us it looks like a regrouping of the fog is back and not much of a change in our pattern. tonight low clouds and fog and i'm sure that drizzle will be popping up tomorrow morning. more of the same, fog, sun. cool for some, mild for others. some people love this, some don't. but we're stuck in a pattern. by early next week very little change. the problem lies with a couple of typhoons out in the western pacific. i'll have more on that in just a second. high temperatures for today, we should be actually 67 in san francisco. it was only 60 degrees. san jose should be 82. that's 73. concord and livermore should be in the upper 80s. 50s, 70s and a few low to mid- 80s. we keep getting a series of these low pressure systems. they don't have to be strong this time of year. the fog bank is large and in charge and all it need
