there is no different constitution for people living in sro's. they say the officers come in and intimidate physically or verbally into handing over the passkey. if this were happening anywhere , but sro's, there would be outcry. [applause] >> and our one last question will be open for anyone who wishes to answer it. do you think it is fair that police who kill citizens are put on administrative leave while the citizens to do the same thing are immediately arrested and imprisoned it? >> [yelling] >> anyone want to grab that one? we go to the different schools to reach out to the wellness centers and check in with sro's, i would really love to make that happen. we are offering our services to the schools, >> edy zing is a shining example. he was down for 2 decades. let's join with eddy on that. rebecca. >> would it be possible will to have coordinate with muni where the bus stops are. the bus is going to be there within 10 minutes of the final school bell so they don't have to wait 20, 30 minutes for a bus. and kids have to transfer. it takes 45 minutes to an hour to get home. if it would be coordinated between the school district and muni that buses arrive and coordinate transfer stops. that would help kids on muni and maybe have a person on the bus stop. >> we have time, sorry just one more. >> okay. all right. peer pressure. >> my name is rudy corpus. give a big shout out. i think one good solution is to focus more on elementary school kids. educate them in a way they can comprehend. if they can recite a whole e-40. you know a first grader came to school with a gun. focus on the elementary school kids. tha

she was a sro , school resource officer. during that time, she worked with middle schools throughout the district and in many areas where they were experiencing violence. she has been an invader. i would like to acknowledge captain masha ash. captain ash has done a tremendous amount of work. she worked on protocols that would work with children taken to the youth facility. during the parent's arrest and from trauma. thank you very much officer pri lo and captain nash. i am going to go over the panel discussion. we are try find solutions which includes violence to and from school and on the site. our goal is to move forward solutions. we ask that all questions be reserved today end. please feel free to jot down questions you have. those questions we are not able to get to, we are interested in collecting them. we are going to collect information with respect to solutions as well as action items that they are going to take back and work on. so our first topic is violence to and from school. jeff will moderate this piece. >> we

part of the sro program, it offers 6 officers skills clinic. we are doing that within 9 middle schools. it's grant funded specifically for that. and so far, the funding stream is there and the school district has been supportive of that as well. that add to the other programs. project impact and alert. all very important programs. the other piece that we're charged to do is help create a saver environment for the children in school. so we, as school resource officers, wear many hats. 1 day we are mediating or siting a child. we offer classes. we have a wilderness component. we take them hiking. we do that with the school district, the boys club and the ymca. the connection is the important thing. without the connection and listening relationship, there is no trust. that's what we strive to build. >> thank you. did you want to add something, angela? >> yes, i did, i had a couple of action items. i think this is a good time to add. to officer parillo. there's a lot of great programs. i noticed these programs are sporadic. there's a couple at this

tenants who live in a lot of run-down places, to now be able to walk into these well-managed places, sro's, half of which are focused on our homeless or formally- homeless persons. i also want to recognize the incredible efforts by some in the different people who have come together to make this happen. i know a lot of these people personally. so many of the entities in between. when deraa was describing the entities they came together to forge a $31 million it took, he named seven different agencies that had to combine themselves in different ways, including redevelopment, housing, state, and all of these entities have to work together. i am so glad that we have a mayor's office of housing that can help with a reputable community-based agency to forge this kind of relationship. because, when you are working in a building where you also promiseall of the construction g on, and when our goal is to make this building seismically safe, and when every unit gets a working bathroom, accessible showers on every floor come and that people can live here while that is happening, that is an incredibl
