and maureen kelly explains that this is not the first time that these two schools have been on chopping block. >> both san public elementary and shannon elementary schools were already on the chopping block. make elementary were able to keep their doors open this year because the city of san paulo put up 3000--put up $300,000 but the city cannot swing that this year. now both schools could stay open, the school board is expected to vote on this agenda item to pay that a state issued loan, a move that was say the addition $1.4 million per year in interest payments and then the board will have to decide some money goes to keeping kids in the classroom. after years of slashing billions of dollars from school programs the school board president said that there are a lot of competing interests for that money. >> class size reduction, school safety in terms of resource officers and instructional material. we are packing 40 to 45 kids into a fix or math class that has to change. but now we have to say what is the ultimate first priority. >> the board is expected to decide whether or not a top
