patti ann brown is live with the latest on this story. >> reporter: jenna, matt curly has been missingor four days now, and is searchers are getting desperate. curly is a doctor in new york city. he was vacationing with his family in hawaii when he vanished while scuba dyeing monday. he was on an education cushion with a driving company for tourists. they were off the south shore of oahu. somehow curly got separated from his island divers group. later, one of his fins was found. curly is a certified, trained diver. the u.s. coast guard called off its search tuesday night. a coast guard spokesman saying they searched an area more than 900 square miles using two ships, a plane and a helicopter. the spokesman says when they suspend a search, they consider how long the person's in the water, the weather and the likelihood of survival. well, the honolulu fire department has continued its efforts to find him along with teams of volunteer divers. curly is 6-5, he's in his third year of residency at st. luke's roosevelt hospital in manhattan. he's a former high school basketball standout in up

jenna: -- >> i'm patty ann brown where breaking news, we have incredible video of a pod of blue whaleseve it or not, these were spotted not far from where we showed you dolphins just a short time ago off of redondo beaches king harbor, a pod of blue whales is actually a very rare sighting, these in santa monica bay today, only about a mile off shore and several of them were actually seen breaching, by helicopters, only about a mile from nine mouth -- by the mouth of king harbor in california. there are about 8000-9000 blue whales worldwide. they are considered endangered. that's breaking news. jon: dramatic new video just being released of a shooting inside a walgreen's drugstore. it happened in michigan. the video shows a couple of masked armed robbers coming into the store in benton township, then watch this, they shove a store employee around. one of the other employees, seeing the guy with his hands in the air, jumped into action to defend himself, he pulls out his own gun. one of the robbers then jumps over the counter at the pharmacy, fires a couple of shots, and then drops his o

patti ann brown has the story ask the stunning video as well. >> reporter: that's right, jenna.he video says it all. it was a youth football game in sarasota, florida, on saturday. there were a few calls that upset the share soda youth -- sarasota youth gators. after another disputed call, coaches and players charged the refs. more piled on throwing punches. the ref was knocked right off his feet by a young player, and then people can clearly be seen kicking the ref on the ground. he couldn't get out from under the pile. it was absolute melee. coaches and parents from other local youth teams are appalled. >> i have never seen anything like that. i've -- i think the coach should be disqualified from coaching. it's not good sportsmanship. >> reporter: well, the ref is okay and decided not to press charges, but the sarasota sheriff's office is seriously considering criminal charges. battery on a sports official is a felony in florida. this referee has been officiating for 14 years. this was his first with the mid-florida conference. the game was between the gators and the north por
