wolf?tropical storm that fanned the flames in texas is causing severe flooding right now. tropical storm lee is still packing heavy rains, possibly -- get this -- tornadoes as it moves east. reynolds wolf is on the scene for us in jackson, mississippi. so what happened in jackson, reynolds? >> the biggest situation we had in jackson, mississippi, is flash flooding that took place earlier in the day. an apartment community of 28 haems as waters came in and started to rise. waters began to drop quickly. people were allowed back in with some minimal damage, however, there was a fatality. the car got picked up and moved downstream. so one fatality. although the flooding here has been flash flooding, there's been additional flooding farther to the south. we have video for you out of louisiana. to be more specific, there was some coastal flooding. a lot of that came in. water that actually rose up to some of the doorsteps of many communities they did have the sandbags in place and they were able

wolf? >> so, basically, it doesn't look very promising right now. what are they brace you for tomorrow? >> tomorrow, we're trying to see if we're getting, if volatility may sort of come to a head, calm down a bit. the fact is, the markets had been looking to the fed for some help and the fed came out with this stimulus measure to basically sell short-term bonds and buy up longer term ones to hopefully lower long-term interest rates with the idea that sparking these lower interest rates to get people to refinance their mortgages, get businesses to reinves, invest and grow their businesses and ultimately hire, but many are wondering if this is really going to make any difference at all because the economy is having such a problem growing jobs at this point. one analyst says with the stimulus measure, it can't make the economy worse, but many say they don't think it's going to make the economy any better either. >> amid growing concerns of a potentially double dip recession. thank you. >>> in

wolf?ople do that every day, jack. thank you. >>> let's move on to another important story we're watching now. we're taking a closer look at nato forces. they're fighting back against a rather bold daylight attack in afghanistan. one of the main targets, the united states embassy in kabul, which is now on lockdown. let's turn to barbara starr. she's watching the story. a brazen daylight attack. what's the latest? >> you know, the u.s. and nato like to say that the taliban attacks aren't very effective. today, the taliban took nato and the u.s. on. straight on. under fire in a nearby building, nato forces shot back from the top of their headquarters inside one of the most secure areas of kabul. fighting raged for hours as insurgents launched small arms and rocket propelled grenades to attack not just nato, but also the power centers of the u.s.-led war effort. >> handful of individuals, five or so, wearing suicide vests were tibl move into a building under construction. >> at least four site

wolf? >> does this impact the short-term withdrawal strategy? the u.s. is planning on having troops in afghanistan until 2014, but until then, supposed to start reducing those numbers. what are you hearing? >> that short-term plan to bring the so-called surge home still is underway, but you know, at this point, the problem is these attacks, they're high pro file a are becoming streenlgedly significant. they're getting the attention of afghans, calling into question whether the karzai government can really provide for the security of that country and that is the test in the long run for u.s. troops coming home. karzai's government has to be able to take over before u.s. troops can take home and the more attacks you see, the more that is called into question, wolf. >> karzai was supposed to spend a few days here, but i think he's getting ready to bolt because of this crisis. >>> comeing up, my special interview with the former president, bill clinton. he tells me what worries him about some o

>> well, it's so interesting, wolf. here we are in the middle of an economic crisis facing what possibly could be a double dip recession. two wars currently being waged in iraq and afghanistan. when we ask people, what's the most important thing for your vote for president, personal qualities versus issues, personal qualities won out, wolf. 49 to 43%. which is stunning. but when you look at these candidates, do candidates have the personal qualities a president should have? bring those candidates back up pl you will see that romney and obama are very close. perry trailing and sarah palin, down at 30%. that means that means that 70% of people don't believe she has the qualities a president should have. that includes leadership, stature. so you can see, that there is no stature gap between barack obama and mitt romney. >> and when it comes to the issues, how do these candidates do? forget about the personal qualities, let's talk about substantive issues. >> you want to ask the question of voters, does a candidate care abo
