the fox business network's ashley webster is with us now. if you would explain how this deal works. >> what this does is initially buys greek breathing room if you like. there are those that say okay we will forgive 50% on every dollar you have lent. 50 cents, that's not enough. are they going to repay all the debts that they have? probably not. what it does do though is gives banks opportunities to get assets written down. what we don't want to happen is for the contagion to spread around europe. that means they have added fire power to bailout fund in europe up to $1.4 trillion. is it enough? what if italy runs into problem and starts to, perhaps, default on its debts? they don't think that $1 trillion, shep is enough. we have to wait and see. the banks themselves are being told they need more cash on their books just in case. all about confidence. this is a good start. but by no means is the debt crisis over. >> shepard: how does it help our economy though in the u.s. >> like it or not we are intertwined all over the world. certainly the

fox business network's ashley webster is live in new york city. so, ashley, what happened here?porter: yeah, well, gregg, that decision by brookfield properties, the company that owns this park here this lower manhattan just a few blocks from wall street, they have planned to clean this plaza area starting at 7 a.m. this morning. that moment the protesters here would have to move out, but they were told they could move back in, but not with all their tents and sleeping bags. so we had a tense this morning leading up to that 7:00 hour. but about 6 a.m. this morning a huge roar went out among the protesters here when they learned that the company in charge had decided not to go ahead with the cleaning. but as you say, the message from mayor bloomberg today, new york mayor bloomberg, he seemed a little ticked. he said broomfield had had a lot of calls from elected officials siding with protesters. he also said his own staff is under strict orders motto pressure brookfield one way or the other. he also says the company can go ahead with the cleanup anytime it wants to. he was saying

ashley webster is live in lower manhattan with the very latest. ashley, the police are telling the protesters they've got to get out of the park because they need to clean up because they're breaking the law and the place stinks. >> yeah, i'm standing in the middle of it and i can attest to that, steve, you're absolutely right. at 7:00 a.m. eastern, the owner of this property, brookeville properties is the owner of the park, says they will move in and clean this area section by section. they say they need to power wash it. they call the conditions here unsafe, unsanitary. in the meantime, in response, the protesters have been doing their part to clean up. they've been removing a lot of the debris and they in fact even called in their own private garbage truck yesterday to move some of the material out. but the bottom line, what happens now? will they in fact move when the cleaners come in? if they don't, the police will then be called in to remove them. but steve, there's another factor i wanted to add here. when the protesters are allowed back in,

ashley webster is with us from the fox business network. always nice to have someone with a european accent to talk about the european news, ashley. tell us about this debt crisis in europe and whether or not we're any closer to a solution. >> reporter: that's a good question. actually i'm from iowa, but don't tell anyone! is this a long term solution? no, it's not. but it does buy breathing time, especially for greece. there's three parts to this plan, jenna. the first one, of course, the banks holding great debt say they will take a 50 percent hair cut, in other words, i lend you $100, i'm only going to get 50 back. that will help greece with its crippling debt. but is it enough? germany wanted 60 percent, the imf said 75 percent hair cut was perhaps more realistic, second, the eurozone bailout, this fund is being boosted to $1.4 trillion. but where's the money going to come from, how will it work, and 1245 enough -- is that enough if a major economy like italy or spain collapses? there are those that say it's not big enough. lastly, some

fox business network's ashley webster is live at zuccotti park in lower manhattan. ashley. >> reporter: good afternoon, megyn. as you say, it is relative palm at zuccotti park, the epicenter of this protest that began nearly four weeks ago. as you can see, people miming around, just going about their business, but they are still here. earlier today, there was certainly a tenseness to this park, when it was scheduled to be cleaned by the company that owns this plaza. as you say, that decision was delayed, postponed for now, the company, brookfield property, said they will work with the protesters to clean up the place, but there is a sense here, megyn, among the people i've spoken to, that they believe it's the first step towards trying to evict them from this park. they say they're not going to move, they're quite happy to stay here. i think if they had tried to gone ahead at 7:00 a.m. this morning eastern time, to move them out, i think they could have seen some confrontation. so it's been postponed for now. megyn: ashley, thank you. >>> well, could newt gingrich be

ashley webster has been over in greece. he knows the story very well. he is joining us from the fox business network. ashley we keep talking about greece every other week. >> right. jenna: is time running out for them to get their finances in order? >> it has been and for some time, jenna, you're absolutely right. greek leaders say without another bailout of $11 billion they will literally run out of money within the next four weeks. in order to get that bailout money they have to prove to the eurozone that the country is taking the necessary steps to reduce its debt. that includes new tax hikes, salary cuts and suspending collective labor contracts. those issues will be voted on in greece's parliament tomorrow with greek leaders saying they have no choice but to accept the hardship. as you can see the anger continues to rise. we've seen hundreds of thousands of workers from dentists to doctors, from teachers to shop owners and even journalists walking off the job. we're seeing some of these protests turning violent. these people saying they simply can n
