jury selection has started in the lululemon case. s get more on the process from stacy cohan who is following the trial from rockville. >> reporter: good morning. we talked about this yesterday. this could be potentially a very lengthy jury selection process. only half of the potential jurors made it through questioning yesterday. the woman charged with murder is 29-year-old brittany norwood. she was in the courtroom yesterday. she was accused of murdering her coworker jayna murray inside that lululemon store earlier this year. now, the jury pool was asked how many people were familiar with this case. and over 80% of the people raised their hands. when asked whether or not they had already made up their mind on the guilt or innocence of brittany norwood, 38 people stood up. that does not immediately disqualify them. only six jurors were released yesterday. there are still 150 more jurors to be polled and questioned before this trial can get under way. brittany norwood has not pled as was expected not criminally responsible which would

now for the latest in a lululemon murder trial. today we expect to hear from the medical examiner about the injuries brittany norwood allegedly inflicted upon her co- worker jayna murray. jummy olabanji has looked at the case this morning. good morning. >> good morning. court starts around 9:00 this morning. we expect to hear more and more testimony and evidence presented, including the testimony where we are expecting the medical examiner will take the stand and talk about some of the hundreds of injuries found on jayna murray. all this as prosecutors try to build their case on a first- degree murder. thus far this high-profile has been packed with graphic evidence and the granting testimony. based on the witnesses who may take the stand this week, could get more chilling. the medical examiner is expected to testify about the autopsy performed on jayna murray and other crimes in experts will talk about the trail of evidence that brittany norwood allegedly left behind. last friday a manager from the apple store next door to lululemo

over to you. >> thank you. >>> the big story this morning, the lululemon murder in bethesda. the trial for the former employee accused of killing a coworker in march begins today. stacy cohan is live necessity courthouse in rockville with more on this. >> reporter: good morning. that lululemon murder case was absolutely rivetting t captivated this whole area, became a national story, partly because of the brutality of the crime and because of the twists and turns of this investigation. now, brittany norwood, 21 years old, originally told police that she and her coworker jay ma nursey had been beaten and sexually assaulted by two masks men who entered the store after closing and followed them in this evening. but her story quickly unraveled and she was charged with first degree murder. >> there is a horrendous crime, coworkers. there should have been some type of intervention. i doubt if it was just an instant kind of impulsive act. >> like my age, you know and it is just so freaky and weird and i've been reading about it in you am curious to see what is going on with it. >> re

> this afternoon a crime scene technician on the stand introducing a very bloody video of the inside of lululemon store proved too much for a couple of jayna murray's friends. they jumped up and got out. but the most important thing that happened today was the playing of brittany norwood's first interview with police. for the first time, they heard her voice as the state played audio of her first statement to police. in court norwood bowed her head and closer eyes as her voice told the tale of an attack by two masked men on her and her co-worker. she described how a man repeatedly hit her and there was so much blood. she claimed he -- and she claimed she was brutally sexually assaulted but the nurse to examine norwood testified there was no evidence of such an assault. her defense attorney admitted this story was an inept attempted cover-up. last month, brittany norwood did kill jayna murray at the bethesda store where they worked. they claim that happened in a fight and it is not first-degree murder. prosecutors are carefully presenting all of the technical evidence to the jury to proof norwood
