senator feinstein, the police officers association, they endorse me. they know the enormous state -- enormity and seriousness of the sheriff's office. this has all culminated in the sheriff's office. making rehabilitation and the program going, challenging the nonprofits, hitting everyone at the table, it takes leadership. i have been looking forward to doing the job. >> we should be proud of the charter school. one of the most interesting facts is that there are many who are not qualified to go in. i agree with the sentiment that we need to expand the city college, expanding it outside, that we have a more of it -- vigorous track, especially for helping women or coming out. with the growth of women inmates reoccurring, i often fall off the record, sticking to those programs. in terms of enforcement, if i understand it right, training and upgrading the needs of the sheriff is something that has to be absolutely, aggressively advocated for. we have seen what they're training records look like compared to the police department, and it pales in comparison.

i would like to acknowledge the president of the police officers association and the president of local 798. captain tom o'connor. thank you for organizing this even today. i would also like to acknowledge mayor lee and congresswoman pelosi for your unwavering support for our members and first responders and always prioritizing public safety. as we reflect on the tragedy of september 11, 2001, we will never forget that nearly 3000 innocent victims lost their lives and the soul of the nation was changed forever. we have vividly remember the horrific sides of the world trade center in new york, at the pentagon in virginia, and at the crash site in pennsylvania. hundreds of those who perished where people sworn to serve and protect. 343 firefighters, 50 law enforcement officers, 37 from the port authority pd, and others from new york pd. we each remember that day. we remember the tragedy we face as a nation under attack. we also remember how we came together a san franciscans, neighbors, and partners. the city came together as a family to ensure that all those were safe and that our loved

not have a brady policy, we immediately started to work with the district attorney and the police officer association to create a great policy for the police department. we took a look back 30 years to police behavior, an unprecedented step in order to make sure that we were good. when i became district attorney, the first thing i did through the reorganization was create a unit that not only holds ourself accountable, the police department, to make sure that any brady issue comes to our attention and is handled appropriately. >> officer misconduct really strikes at the heart of building trust between law enforcement and the community, which is absolutely essential to keeping us safer. it is very important that we take that very seriously. unfortunately, in the current office, we have a situation where the former police chief has become the district attorney, which is simply a walking conflict of interest. that has never happened before not only in the history of san francisco, but in the history of our country. it is not george's fault. anyone in that position would have conflicts of interest. but t
