late last month three homers filed a lawsuit against the city. sevenotal were yellow tagged as a result of the mud slide. they are also suing their neighbors who's houses are at the top of the slide. they say those homeowners did not care for the drainage system the way they should have. it's not uncommon for neighbors to sue neighbors regarding mud slides. officially neighbors on both streets put up a fight against the city. they felt the city should have informed them and if it had they would have never bought their homes. the city says since the slide happened on public property it will repair the surrounding private property but it needs state funds to do so. and if we come back here live, you can see just 4:extense -- just how extensive this damage was. a lot of the homes are sitting with the backyards completely shorn off. right here you can tell where there is drainage that has been put in here with sandbags on top of it. this looks pretty new. we do expect to see construction crews here this week. >>> the city of berkeley is trying to speed up
