behind me is virgin america airlines. as you can see passengers already busy checking in for their flights and it is going to be a busy day here at the airport. it is considered sfo's busiest travel day for the holiday, 134,000 passengers coming in and out through the gates. between december 16 and january 2, there's going to be about 2 million passengers coming through sfo. it's an increase of about 5% compared to last year. interestingly enough, in other airports in california, their passenger loads are decreasing by as much as 9%. the reason it's increasing at sfo, one of the officials says it's because more airlines are using or getting -- or having sfo as a destination and it was added within the last year. now, if you are going to be heading to the airlines this morning through sfo, allow yourself at least 90 minutes to check in for domestic flights. two hours if you're going international. and tsa recommends -- i know it's the holiday so many of you might have gifts for your relatives. don't wrap your gifts. leave
