marking the one-year anniversary of the egyptian uprising that led to the fall of former president hoseni mubarak>> reporter: don't get me wrong, cheers can be heard loud and clear in tahrir square but uncertainty and anxiety linger among the egyptian people. take a listen. the latest look here at the square shows protesters waving flags and chanting but they're chanting slogans against the country's ruling military council. then there's the reaction of the military police. protesters being hit and chased away with tear gas. overall though it is a much calmer scene than one year ago when thousands stormed the square in violent protests against hosni mubarak. you think his ousting would have paved the way to democratic change and more social justice but people say the military council that took over is just as authoritarian. >> this has been a worse rule than even the time of mubarak. it was a small prison during the time of mubarak. now it is a bigger prison. >> right there, that is a widespread opinion despite the fact egyptians held their first free election in decades earlier this week. also t
