to reduce traffic congestion in metro atlanta along georgia 400, we will be working with the d.o.t. to implement innovative traffic solutions. we will modify the existing southbound lanes from mcfarland road to the chattahoochee river allowing an additional southbound through-lane. from the chattahoochee river to 285, we will implement flex shoulders in each direction. these improvements will allow us to better facilitate traffic during peak rush hours of accommodating the explosive growth that the northern suburbs have experienced. we called a h the p-3 project for the northwest corridor. while there were many reasons for doing so, one of the most important ones that i can think of was that i was, am and will be opposed to contracting away georgia's sovereignty for a period of 60 to 70 years on a transportation corridor that is so vital to the future of our state.
