>>>earlier this you story about a car accident that could have gone a lot worse if not for some navy cbs. remember a bmw smashed up near the railing in california? there was a mom and two children in the car. that car was almost about to fall over the side of a bridge about 100 feet. the cbs were nearby in traffic and they had sort of an expendible boom forklift. they helped the fire department out, reached out, braved that car, so the firefighters could get the woman and two small children out of the car safely. we have those cbs right this minute to talk about how it feels to help out and be a hero. >> the best reward i got out of it was just seeing those people come out of that vehicle alive. >> were you surprised they survived that wreck? >> with as mangled as it was, i honestly thought for the worst. being that there were two children in the car with the mother, that just added that much more to having to get the rescue completed as soon as possible. >> do you guys think this is the right place at the right time. >> one of the tractor-trailers broke down on the way back to the base.

navy seals had parachuted into somalia, opened fire on the kidnappers. and escaped in black hawk helicopters were w. buchanan and a danish hostage. as the father described it to cbs was 40 minutes of not knowing what that call would be a guy came on the phone and said, mr. buchanan, the next voice you will hear will be the president of the united states. he says the president got on the phone and informed him john, this is barack obama. i have got some really good news for you. your daughter jessica has been rescued and evacuated by our seal team and she is on her way home. word soon reached buchanan's brother at school in tennessee where his roommate witnessed the reaction. >> he just came out. he was like turn on the news. we have to see. it was not on because the state of the union came on. but he was just so excited. we hardly even got to talk to him. he was just running around excited. >> shepard: back in ohio, patience and teachers at buchanan's old high school expressed relief at word she was safe. saying she no doubt relied on her faith to survive. >> she was probably trying to convert them would be my best estimation. she was probably praying for them. >
