the san francisco municipal transportation authority and the san francisco police department regarding impacts and suggestions to mitigate destruction of commercial tour buses and shuttles, and then finally, i have a couple of in memoriam mentions. one, i would like us to close this meeting in memory of susan and dr. robert, dedicated members of the san francisco public health team who were both killed last weekend in oakland. this is a tragic loss to our community. susan was a physician assistant with the housing and urban health clinic and will always be remembered for her sense of humor and deep compassion for the city's disenfranchised population. the doctor was a psychologist with the haight-ashbury free clinics, working with the jail health. he was committed to mental health treatment for the san francisco inmates. we are thankful for their years of service and share our condolences with their colleagues and loved ones, and finally, along with supervisor campos, would like to close in memoriam of the redevelopment agency. tomorrow will mark the end of the san francisco redevelopm

as much as possible, we try to coordinate with the san francisco municipal transportation authority agencyand has a history of doing so over port streets. in 2010 they requested certain regulations. they were also critical that we look at the entire mission bay area in coordination with partners in the redevelopment agency and asset mta to come up with a strategy for the entire area. we requested that the mta take the lead on that effort because of their expertise with parking regulations and parking management, as well as their significant majority of jurisdiction within the bay. as the mta and redevelopment agency began to look at parking strategies, it became evident that we needed to look at a larger area than just mission bay. as we will describe in a little bit, we looked at the buffer area of, where the port began to look at an area that was out of 23rd street, basically between 23rd streets and the creek, and these sub-areas identified in the traffic in front of you. with that, pardon me, i will introduce j premise, who has more on the on street parking strategy. >> good morning, c

sfmta is participating in a working group in conjunction with bart, the transportation authority, daly city, santrans and san francisco university to include daly city as well as other fare options. the current agreement allows unlimited travel on or within san francisco and on all muni services with a single fair instrument. the san francisco mta reimburses part about $1.20 for each trip taken under this agreement currently. this reimbursement rate is retroactively to the fiscal year 2011. in the new fast pass agreement which will go before the board of supervisors for approval in the near future, along with the bird feeder agreement. the fair study will look at the writer ship and financial impacts which will be included in the study already under way to look at the overall capacity at the daly city bart station. recommendations are expected in late summer, in the early fall of 2012. i look forward to potentially riding with you in the 14 l. president chiu: thank you. madame clerk, the consent agenda. >> an item can be removed and considered separately. >president chiu: would any of you like to sever these items? su

san francisco municipal transportation agency for the central control and communications-integrated systems replacement phase 1 project subject to the attached fiscal year cash flow distribution schedule. >> good morning. i am project management oversight consultant to the authority. the item in front of you for action today is an allocation request from the mta of $14.8 million for the construction of the first phase of the integration system project. this is one of several major projects. the current facilities being used for central control communications by the mta are four decades old. they are very antiquated. it is very cramped, very understaffed. i think that mta needs to be commended for being able to actually manage their system from that facility. anyone who has had the opportunity to visit it will be able to tell in about five minutes that it is quite a feat. the purpose of the central control communications program is to modernize, to bring it to the 21st century, to help mta meet their objectives. the benefits of this replacement project is systems safety, reliability, system maintainstability, and also to allow for expanding the metro subway system -- system maintainability, and also to allow for expanding the metro subway system. the supervisory c
