the latest killing happened last night at utah and hayes streets. allie rasmus joins us live with what the victim told police before that victim passed away. allie. reporter: fairfield police say this homicide that happened last night is not related to three others that have happened in the city in the past month and a half and they don't believe the shooting last night was gang related. here's what we know happened, it was around 8:30 last night on the 1100 block of hayes street where police got a call about gunfire in that area. when they arrived they found a 47-year-old man in the driveway of his home who had been shot several times. that man was airlifted to john muir medical center where he later died from his injuries. police say the man was conscious when he arrived and this victim was able to tell police that he did not recognize the man who shot him. >> we do not have a motive for the shooting. this homicide is not related to an earlier homicide we had on the same street february 1st. those two cases are separate. reporter: and there have b

at a table with me today is deputy secretary david hayes.e has done a herculean effort on the last issues, including the coordination of pumping issues in alaska. and the budget director for the department of interior for many nous. i also wanted to say thank you to the staff on both sides, a democrat and republican, on this committee that work with us on some issues. let me start out by characterizing the way i see this budget. senator bingaman and distinguished senators, i see it as a squeezed budget with some tough choices and some very painful cuts. it is a budget that cuts government and requires government to do more with less. it supports job creation. job creation is the focus of this committee, a focus of the president. it is job creation and energy, both in conventional energy as well as renewable energy. it supports job creation through conservation and tourism. it supports job creation through the water supplies that we manage on behalf of the people of this country. and lastly, it honors our important responsibilities to the 566
