here's jodi hernandez. >> reporter: the bay bridge project is coming under fire tonight as workers move closer to finishing the eastern span of the bay bridge. critics say work that could have been done here was instead outsourced to china. you are looking at billboards that have sprung up near the bay bridge claiming all the steel used on the new eastern span was fabricated overseas. >> the campaign will have a couple of components to it. >> reporter: with the backdrop of the bridge, members of the alliance for american manufacturing unveiled their new bi billboard campaign. they say the steal on the south anchored suspension portion of the bridge was needlessly manufactured overseas. >> the majority of the bridge including the most complicated metal section in the middle, the suspension span, was sent to china so we were competing against china. china won the bid and they built it. that lost probably 3.5 million man-hours of work, of domestic steel and manufacturing work here. >> i think every california taxpayer should be outraged by this, that their tax dollars literally went to sub

in concord, i'm jodi hernandez, nbc bay area news. >>> an investigation is under way into a deadly police shooting. antioch police tried to pull off a wanted parolee this afternoon, on hill crest avenue and east 13th street. it's unclear what led up to the shooting. during the arrest, several shots were fired. the parolee later died at the hospital. >>> tonight, a rescue in the bay. a boater was saved by a quick-thinking tugboat operator, after his own boat overturned. it happened around 8:00 this morning. the tugboat operator spotted the man clinging on to his overturned vessel near pier 70. then, alerted the coast guard. the coast guard took the man to the marina before he was taken to the hospital. >>> a porn bust in san mateo county landed ten men in jail. the task force arrested ten men during today's sweep. seven of the suspects face child pornography charges. two men face distributing the lewd material. one man was arrested on an unrelated warrant. investigators seized several computers during that sweep. >>> hundreds of agents in san francisco may be one talk closer to being out.
